What would YOU do?

You weren't kidding when you said the tip was rounded off. That's pretty neat. One thing I've noticed is with mine, it snaps open fine, but when closing, it doesn't have the snap. I would say it's more of a slight pull. I think that's a bit unusual but it stays shut just fine so I'm not overly worried about it. That said, I do see the resemblance in the walnut scales.
 
^^Those look VEERRY familiar. Nice specimens you have there. The 1940-1964 tang stamp on the 13031L is a great bonus. :thumbup:

What everyone else said. Looks like a good using knife. But I would take a nice clean rag with a little linseed or lemon oil and give the wood scales a bit of a rub down. Wood always appreciates a little TLC now and then.
