Here are my current "go-to" knives. These are the ones that I choose from most days.

What I would like to know is what you would add to these next if this was what you had to pick from. In other words, in your opinion what am I missing?

I am thinking:
production knife, not necessarily new
1, 2, or 3 blades max
3"-4" closed length

I am NOT asking you to post a link to a dealer or anything, so please don't post anything like that here (that's what PM's and email are for). Just trying to get an idea or two on patterns and such from the guys and gals here.

Thanks!

I'd like to see a three blade stockman, cattle knife or sowbelly in your future...

Something like that tracker knife Blues came home with.

That knife has been haunting my dreams of late. That's not a common thing these days.

Yeah, the tracker.

Tough to find a production version but a single blade sowbelly would come close...

Medium Stockman....for sure. Lots to choose from so should keep you busy searching. I like the old Schrades but Case makes some nice ones. Take a look at Queen knives. Same there lots to pick from and D2 steel to boot. I have the gunstock and it is a good knife.

I am kind of leaning that way. I have an old Schrade 8OT, a Buck 703 that was my EDC for years in the 80's-90's. The 8OT is in really bad shape, and the Buck has a broken spring :(.

Keep em coming.

Looking at what you have and the size you carry......

3 1/2" with two blades

A Queen Gunstock 3 1/2" with a clip blade and small pen
or a similar
A #69 Queen or S&M Barlow or straight Jack or a Northwood Straight Jack (like the Forum knife)

I second that. If you like your GEC, their #53 even end stockman knives are very nice. As for sowbelly, hmmm, the Winchester or S & M ones are nice, too.

An old Hen and Rooster or Henckles stockman. Get a good one and you won't complain at all I promise.

I'd say either a Queen #9 stockman in their new zebrawood, or a GEC toothpick in elk stag. Both have a touch of class that would fit right in with your other staples.

Hi,

I've been dreaming of a Seahorse whittler lately myself. But you do really need a good stockman.

dalee

I sure like the looks of the wood handled one, in the upper right corner.
What is it? and where do I gets me one :p

The Big Chicken! I grew up not to far from it.

A good stockman - Moore Maker or Northwoods - Eye at a pinch

But look at the Queen City Classic teardrop jack in ebony and 1095 - you might end up selling the rest

Mnd you I have just been looking at a Mountain Man and single blade trapper in stag from PJ Tomes - now that pair would be worth selling up for :D :)
