What would you get next?

Hi,

Great choices! I could easy live with that Texas Jack myself. The scales on both of them are very handsome.

You have some great blades there.

You bet those are some nice knives. Probably doesn't NEED anything else, but a good stockman type or whittler would fit in the group nicely.

Flymon, thanks for sharing your nice knives with us.

Stu, The Case/Bose collb's are great. I've got the Dog Leg Jack it's great. Try that or the Tribal Spear, I think that's my next move, Hopefully. But Elliot was talking about single blade Sowbelly, that would be nice as well. I've been trying to find one of those to.

Jason, I was actually referring to a standard three blade sowbelly for Stu and the single blade for Carl. :p  (Horses for courses and all that. ;))

I am kind of leaning that way. I have an old Schrade 8OT, a Buck 703 that was my EDC for years in the 80's-90's. The 8OT is in really bad shape, and the Buck has a broken spring :(.

Keep em coming.

I had a broken spring on mine too. Send it back to Buck, they will send you a new 303. Yeah, the 703 is a collectors item, I didn't get mine back, but what can you do with a broken knife?

For the OP, I can't see the pics, only red x's. However, try to acquire one of each major traditional design out there. Pen, trapper, stockman, whittler, congress. Move on to moose, saddlehorn, gunstock trapper etc. When you get a lobster style, you'll know you're hooked. You're in custom or antique territory then. Stockmans are my favorite design, I have a Buck 301, two old Kutmasters that have seen better days, and an Ontario RAT railsplitter (made by Queen), and am always looking for more. There are many different options out there to choose from. I've had some nice ones from Northwoods, Queen, Schrade (34OT), Uncle Henry, Case. If you don't mind a little wear and tear, go for some stockmans that have been rode hard and put away wet. Lots of different brands out there. Sabre, Parker, Ka-Bar etc from the 50's-70's.

Sowbelly sounds good. I had a Case Sowbelly for a while but sold it without ever even pocketing it. I have had my eye on a Stag Winchester Sowbelly, and I managed to secure a fair commission check this month so maybe in a few weeks I will update this thread :D
