What would you like to see next??

You can find a Ratshaker on the sale forums occasionally but here is a look at what is out there. I still want to see the 7" coot.

I'm still waiting on the Control Freak. It's everything the Bog Dog is, and then some. The additional grip positions it affords make it more versatile than the BD.

Second would be the BRT, then the Satin Rat Tactical (both in brown, of course--don't even offer it in black; you won't lose a single sale. Black is so DONE!).

I know of at least one sale that would be lost.......the tan coating isnt on my list of favorite things.

I'm not a ninja, I'm not an ATF agent, I'm not Johnny Cash, I'm not into Goth, and I don't have to worry about my knife matching my SWAT Team uniform. What in the wilderness does black blend in with, other than a charred forest after a fire? Outside of movement, the quickest and easiest way to spot OpFor on FTX's, and others from my own team as well, was to look for those black boots, because those always stood out the most out of all our kit, no matter where we were. Now the color of one's knife isn't anywhere near as important as the camo pattern of his uniform, but my point is, if it's going to have a color, it makes a lot more sense to go with a neutral brown than black. All that aside, the tan coating is much tougher than the black crinkle coat.

:p:p:p:p:p:p

edit: Holy total re-write batman!;) I just dont like the tan bro, I like black coated or nekkid knives. The tan gets dirty too quick. :barf:

make that 2 sales that would be lost. black crinkle coat all the way!!

A Ratana or a short sword like the roman gladius would be sweet.

Oh yeah a rat lightsaber :D

My vote is for the tan Ratweiler. Then I can get busy making sheaths for it. I have some advantage camo plastic buring a whole in my pocket!!!!!!!

(Unless Eric just sends me a black one for sheath making. ;):D)

Sven, your black crinkle coating won't go "all the way." It chips off just like the old metallic ceramic smooth coating did. My lightly used Howler is proof of that. The brown coatings on my various Busse & SRKW knives do not.

Am I to understand that you'd actually pass up on a new SRKW model that you would otherwise be interested in if it was not offered in black?!? Do the black ones cut better? I'm sick to death of plain jane, run-of-the-mill black on knives, but I won't let that keep me from buying a particular model I'm interested in if that's the only color I can get. Aside from the color, the performance issue between the two coatings is enough to sway me.

x-head: i am aware of how the crinkle coat wears, as i have been using a black battle rat extensively. given the abuse i've given that knife thus far, it has outerformed the other black coatings i've seen in the industry. yes, it does wear, but that adds caracter. now, would i pass up a model if it were only offered in tan? probably. my blades i like either black or as leatherman said "nekkid" blued is cool as well. i'm just not a big fan of tan. just like you don't like black.

respectfully,
sven

I think a Rat Shaker variation 3/16" thick and about 5" overall would be a nice pocket knife.

i'd love to see tan coatings sold with blaze orange res-c handles....second choice would be black with hi-viz yellow handles. not "pretty" per se, but extremely useful, and possible a tad more sheeple friendly

I want a FOLDER!

Maybe even a folder with OD Green G-10 scales, and black coated blade. Yeah, THAT WOULD RULE!
