What would you rec for 1st Emerson

The CQC7 was my first. The CQC8 is one of the most versatile. Lycosa right. Any of the Emersons' are a good first knife.

The CQC13 bowie is another all around blade that's hard to beat. The CQC11 if you want something large. The commander, like the 7, has a cult following for good reason. It all depends who you are and what you'll do with it the most. Let us know.

I ended up with a CQC8 Horseman as my first Emerson. Picked it up from a member on these forums for a decent price too.

what kind of gun is dis?

The A-100 is a great knife, my 1st Emmy. Got it for xmas and hasn't left edc rotation for more than a day. Lock was a bit tough to disengage at 1st but after a couple weeks found its sweet spot. Love it

I am also a big Spydie fan, have several (LOL), I prefer the hole as the opening device followed by the thumb disk. That being said I am thinking about a CQC-10 next since it also uses a hole for opening, not a round Spydie hole but an oval, should work well. I do have a CQC7 that I EDC almost everyday, at least part of the day.

My first Emerson was a CQC15 and it has served daily as my go-to do-it-all EDC. It ain't so pretty anymore, with some coating scuffed off the blade, but it a great and comfortable companion.
It combines the legendary Emerson Tanto tip and the Commander's recurve.
I may never get the edge like it was when it was NIB (though it will still do the paper cut thing), but a quick trip back to Ernest and his crew for a tuneup will fix that...IF I can ever let it go for that long.
If you prefer a slightly smaller blade you may be able to find a Mini-15, though I hear they're hard to come by these days.
And I must confess to a smoldering love affair with my Mini-Commander...such a sweet little handful.
Ah, hell...Haze is right. You can't go wrong.
Let us know which Enerson you pick...first!
