Hi there,

Sorry to post this here but I really need your advise or help and really feel angry and wronged.
I have been in headache in a case in the past day and wanted to ask you guys what can do if a online dealer frames you and refuses knife return and refund.

I received a pricy knife 3 days ago, then open the box without video recording, after open the box, I found there are scratches on the bolster.
I made about 1 day research on Internet to see whether other products have similar situation, and until the night, I decided to return the knife.

But when I talk to the online dealer and told him/her the reason, show the photos of the scratches, at the beginning, s/he said I can see scratches on any metal if place it under light, but later, s/he frames me and says it's me played a whole day, s/he imaged and said: I use wrong tissue to swipe the knife, I placed the knife in my pocket, all those damage the knife, so s/he refuses the return and refund.
At the time, s/he shows a video recording: handling the knife, my order paper on the table as background, shows a 360 degrees view, try to proof the knife was totally fine when being placed in the box.
But in the video, it's not close up enough, and the light angles cannot make the scratches reflected. I took a lot similar photo at similar light/angles, under those conditions, the scratches are not visible, as the dealer said: can be seen under close up view near light.

On the other hand, I forgot to say, when I opened the box, the knife was not well stayed in the box in the slot, but freely stayed somewhere in the box.
If like what s/he said, it's caused by many times scratches repeatedly, I more assume it's because the unwell pack up so that the knife and plastic bag outside touched many times during delivery. - But the dealer insists to frames me and talked to me at very bad temper.

What I can do under this situation?

Thanks.
D

Pics of the scratches would be helpful, but if the knife came that way the dealer should take it back.
Like Don said, name the dealer, sounds like the antics of a rather infamous dealer that has done similar stuff in the past.

Look to your payment provider. If you payed PP G&S or by credit card , they likely can help.
But be fair, if this is not really a problem, don't abuse it.
Also name the dealer. If they are a BF dealer, they should be given the chance to respond.

The dealer said it's me played whole day and cause the scratches, so the pictures cannot proof who is the one made it. 🤣
I cannot image an authorized dealer can have this low class imagination

Name the dealer.
It's an authorized dealer on non English language / platform / place, the platform judged and agreed my return now. If the dealer makes tricks later, (e.g. it said they never receive the return parcel), I will post the name here.
Thanks for your reply.

So no name of the dealer yet and no pics of the knife. Cool.

BTW, it's not a dealer on BF

This happened to me once on a English speaking platform. I had a expensive German stock dropped from the dealer directly to my gunsmith to use in a parts kit build. Gunsmith received and said too much play. sloppy unusable. I contacted the dealer, he said have the gunsmith send it back. On receipt, the dealer said the stock is not what he sold me, not even German origin and I must think him stupid that he would be scammed by me. I spoke with the smith. He opened the box, saw the issue and put it back in the box to return. he never handled it again. I believe the gunsmith was truthful, his reputation speaks for itself. I didn't have any recourse except to reverse the credit card. I didn't do that as I hoped I could speak with the company and resolve. I wasn't able to discuss the situation with the dealer without their resorting to drama and name calling. I didn't do a charge back as I knew I would have to use them for parts if I couldn't find elsewhere. I've used them since but only as a last resort. This probably was a simple mistake on dealer's part, but since dealers get many calls like OP's, it made it easy for them to blame scammers for their crappy customer service.

Last week, Bawadimann sent make a single edge slicer instead of a dagger blade. I sent an email, he called me, explained the mistake, gave me some special considerations and in the course of fixing the situation, I end up buying 2 more Bawadimann blades. That's how to turn a mistake into a customer for life.

Well at least we've all been saved from buying knives on that platform.

Well we do at least know the dealer is a s/he.

So it won’t be a cisgender, pangender, transgender, agender, bi-gender, androgyne, omnigender, two-spirit, gender non confirming, or poly gender dealer.

OP could be French. A name of a business is female.

This situation is terrible. Dealing with incorrect accusations and an uncooperative seller is very upsetting.

If all typical channels fail, consulting with consumer protection resources in your area may be an option. I would consider disputing the charge and making the case to your bank, they may find in your favor.
