What you look for in Busse vs other knife companies...

Thanks for the answer, but are you serious? You can’t mean a polished blade and $50 makes that difference! If so, I guess I’m gonna save my dollars and lurk on the busse site until I get one!
I'm not sure what feels like a custom means to you. Can you elaborate?

Good question. “Feels” is hard to pin down, I think what I meant was, and I think as I stated it was a dumb question—How they are made. Obviously it is a collaborative effort, each knife is not made by one person. They are listed as “manufacturer” rather than “knife maker,” but I feel (there it is again) there is a connection between maker and consumer that is undefinable.

They are not customs in the sense that it is one maker making the entire knife for you. They are small batch production knives. Very limited quantities.

The reason I buy Busse is because I like to buy the best. These blades can be used for hundreds of years.
I'm slow to the party...
Looking for an opinion or an idea on resources for more info on the Busse history, the older models, progression?
I found "blade hunter" website and Busse Combat history, youtube, and see a range of models over there,
but where would you guys direct a new piglet for feeding the new obsession, learning the progression of Busse?

I found this thread in a gun forum - pretty damn good rundown. Could be amazing if organized better and a lot of blanks could be filled in with all the knowledge around here.

Jerry justified the reason I buy Busse a few days ago. I won’t go into details, but I had an issue with one of my Custom Shop knives and reached out after getting it back. He responded to me within about an hour and had me send it directly back to him to take care of. For me, I don’t mind spending my money when I can get both a quality product and great customer service. Customer service seems to be a thing that has died as our society changes, but companies like Busse and makers like Dalibor and Mosier all have great customer service and it is a pleasure to do business with them

Thank you Sir,

Yep, this right here is exactly what I was missing - pictures, models, descriptions, prices, etc...
This as you said pretty much covers it, wishing now I could read Russian, or not...

Mike I've had a Randall model 18 since I was 19, orhalf my life. Been to the factory in Orlando too. Fine knives.

Thank you, I agree all the way & am jealous: I was near the museum twice but had my priorities wrong & missed it...twice...
Thinning the Randall herd now a little bit, keeping my "Sergeant" model, but since I received the satin Infi Axe Hammer LE it really opened my eyes.
Then researching, browsing forums, youtubing etc. and mainly being here on the forum and reading, following along-
has Opened MY EYES~~~~~WIDE!
I thought I knew what a combat knife could look like...
Wrong= but Now I do, & holy crap...
I recently got some nice knives coming...
happily reeducating myself and updating my knowledge of what I missed.
It is all appreciated!
