What You Would Like In Full SE Sprint Run?

Spyderco has blessed us a lot in the past few years with some great Sprint Runs. However most of those have been for plain edged units. There are so many great models that were made in SE at one time that I would like to see in a Sprint Run. Also there have been a few models made in the past few years that were made in plain edge that many feel should have been made in SE as well. A few of those models that immediately come to mind that I wanted in SE are the C-111 Captain model along with the Breeden RESCUE and one of the few PE Hawkbill models known as the Superhawk just to name a few. But I'm willing to bet that there have been many other Spyderco models made that many of you would like to see in SE. Well let's bring those up and talk about them and let the company know.

Interesting
Probably not a popular choice but I wouldn't mind a UKPK in h1 or Lcn, could be very handy in SE.

The Caribbean is nice but I’d love to see a saltwater friendly PM2.
Either H1 or LC200N Steel Blade and Hardware, along with vibrant or neon colored G10 handles, so that I could find it easily when I drop it in the water.

I still carry my G10 Harpy every day in my left pocket. That knife has cut a lot of rope and water hose over the years. It still works but the handles are getting really smooth and you can only sharpen effectively so many times... and it is ATS55... if a new one came out in a long wearing steel... I would have to get one. Just the right size for my left side EDC knife.. the one I pull out much less and for more specialized cutting... like round things.

Glad you brought up that CARRIBBEAN model. I would love to have one of those in SE in my "user arsenal". It would fit into my everyday rotation nicely.

I have wanted another G-10 Harpy so bad since the one I had for years got stolen:mad: It was my companion blade that I carried along with whichever plain edged blade I might be using at the time. It was me full SE, Hawkbill companion blade for close to 7 years when this jerk stole it from me.

What really ticked me off horribly after that was when I found out he sold it for just enough to get himself a pack of cigarettes:mad: talk about rubbing insult into injury. But I'm still holding out hope that Mr. Glesser will some day do another run of G-10 Harpy models. We have very recently got some good news that the C-60 Ayoob model is coming back in SE & PE both.

I'm also hoping along with a new G-10 Harpy in SE they can add the C-36 Military model in SE as well. Great suggestions so far guys :)

I would love a Police Lightweight or Endura in K390 with a full Spyder edge.
That sounds interesting. But I haven't yet heard how K390 does in SE. Some of those supersteels don't do so well in SE unfortunate. One big example that comes to mind is ZDP-189..Spyderco had to delete one model in that steel in SE because of some problems they had with it.

However I do know for a fact that CTS-XHP is good for Spyderedges so why not just use a steel with proven qualities?

I believe Sir Sal is testing out K390 serrated currently and can't wait to hear about how he thinks it works!

That makes two of us. Because historically most of those supersteels that are excellent for PE blades seem to chip and pose problems in SE blades. I'm hoping that K390 will be different like XHP was.

It is strange however because the old 440V which at the time was considered to be maybe too hard for SE turned out to be great for SE blades. I've even kept a couple of my old ones in 440V Spyderedges. But this would be great news if it pans out.

Nothing.

I own them but I'm not a big fan of fully serrated blades, except for use in a bread knife or when cutting thru tough irregular materials is required.

They have their uses but I prefer plain edged blades.

I’d like to see the siren in its same current form but in full SE.

I’d also like to see a PM2, Millie or even the Chief in full SE, preferably in 52100, Cruwear or 4v.

I didn't like the SE at first, all the horror stories on sharpening/cutting problems. Then I had one given to me and I became a believer. It can go so long without sharpening and has no peers on many cutting tasks. Sure most are still PE in the collection but I could sure envision more in SE. Oh and I do love the way people look when I unlimber the Civilian, much nastier in SE.

Hey that's all good Brother because I'll admit that there was a time I didn't like SE blades all that much until I discovered a few jobs that they work much better on. And it really depends on the type of work a guy does>> and with that said that are probably a lot of people that never would find enough uses for a Spyderedged blade. And it's all good.

But I will say that once I found out that SE blades cut through fibrous materials, vines, polymers, cordage ect. then I never looked back. I carry two blades daily. one full PE M390 Military model and one ATS-55 Full SE Stainless RESCUE model>> And I use both of them about equal during the day.

But it looks like Sal is going to run either 30% or 40% of them in SE and the rest of the run will be in PE as it stands at this time. But we are trying to gather more information. Which is why I put a POLL up over at Spyderco.com. So there should be plenty for everyone regardless which edge type they want. But I've already talked to 5 guys that are planning to buy one PE and one SE just like I am. And I'm going to try to get enough change together to buy and another two of them for the long term collection ( one PE & one SE).

Spyderhawk LC200N.
Police with Emerson Wave in any stainless.
