At least that's what used to happen with my new Sebenzas...I had never carried knives so 'damn' sharp before (and by BM910HS closed easier). Usually, (unfortunatly) what I most often try to cut is: boxes, mail, loose threads, rope, food, MRE packages...and I also use it as a toothpick.
Depends on what I'm doing, but I usually use it to slice up my oranges. Lately, I've been using it to strip wires, scrape gaskets off, and cut fuel line.
Yeah, pretty similar here as well, paper, string, loose threads, fruit and other foodstuffs, packages, myself, and just this morning i used a delica (i store one neatly on my bedroom floor)to open a mail package containing a nice blue box i've been playin with my new 710 all day
have a nice day
Unfortunately, my EDC most often just cuts the plastic food packaging. And the tops off of those 20 oz. plastic Coke bottles (a friend is a war reinactor, and uses them, along with other materials, to make smoke grenades for the reinactments). That's about as tough as it gets for me. But I still need that mega-tactical folder.
My EDC is mostly a $150.00 pencil sharpener, but sometimes I have to abuse the edge cutting out grout prying tiles, cutting bucket lids, home surgery, mail, use as a phillips head screwdriver, weed cutter, flower digger, and boredom remover.
I use a BM42.
My EDC has been my Victorinox Executive SAK for over 25 years... I use it every day to trim a busted fingernail, slit open a letter or pack of copy paper at work, use it on those tiny screws used on battery covers and on my harmonica cover plates, and the scissors come in real handy for a quick cut of a wild hair, and to trim up those nose hairs!
I usually carry a single bladed knife, like my CRKT Mirage, but I don't use it near as much as my trusty little Executive SAK.
MRE boxes, MREs, 550 cord, fuzz sticks, kindling, small sticks for water stands and camo netting. I also like to sharpen sticks for the hell of it and various sundry tasks that come up. My favorites being(in order):
