Gee, who are you getting that from?![]()
Well, I'm getting a small Sebenza for a user, & 3 Spydercos. A Captain, mini-Manix (Discontinued), & a Yojimbo (Another discontinued Spyderco).
Since I poised thequestion I'll go first. I'm trying to hold myself to one knife per month as this was a New Years resolution, and so far so good. I had a large Classic Sebenza with some lignum vitae wood inserts I was going to get, but then something else popped up and I jumped on it before it got gone.
What I got was a Strider AR with the digicam finish, caller a digicam ghost I believe. I have one AR that I bought a couple years ago and I have done some modifying on it by thinning down the handles, putting larger grooves in the handle, polishing the liners and back of the blade, polishing the blade to where the tiger stripes are barely visible, and most of all putting a foldover clip on it so that when in my pocket all you see is the clip on the outside, yep that's correct.....that tiny clip you see is attached to a big ole' AR!! At any rate I wanted to get another AR that was "stock" with out any mods, although I will redo the clip to get a low ride carry, it will not mess up anything since I'm using the most rearward frame screw hole to place the clip. I know with a lot of folks here, you either like/love Striders or you dislike/hate the knives. My post is no way meant to start a Strider lovefest or hatefest, it is just the knife I have coming for this month, and btw, the Sebenza I ended up skipping over will probably be my Feb. knife.
Also add that I still have this new knife, new flashlight thing going as I have two new lights coming when the AR does. These are the new Olights, and I have a T20Q5, and a T10 Q5 on the way. The difference is in the number of batteries, with the T20 holding 2 X 123CR's, and the T10 holding a single 123CR.
So what's next on your agenda?
Hey allen, I'm planning on a custom shop 110 in the next couple of months. I know you have several and it is your "fault" I'm hyped up on one!
I like both steels for sure.I'm also thing stag with finger grooves, nickle silver bolsters, and a BG42 or an ATS-34 blade. What's your opinion on the blade steels?
