That Hartkopf is an amazing piece - that stag is really unbelievable, especially in had; great thick handles (not too thick though)... and they are matching together, not as I´ve seen on many other knives before.
Ebony is a great wood - imo. It gives a great, silky feeling in hand.
A #68 White Owl like this to take over from the #09 Esquire that to be honest is just to small for my arthritic old fingers lovely little knife though it is..

Please let us other arthritic guys know how you like it!

Arthritic guy checking in. My spear point White Owl in bocote has a nice mild pull, about 3 and is as small as I can use comfortably.

Thanks for the feedback. Nice looking knife all around. I tend to buy single blade knives that are easy to open, and wonder if they make a single blade owl.
Northwoods Indian River Jack is similar to the owl and is single bladed. The pull is pretty light as well. Unfortunately I just checked and they are currently sold out. I do recall Derrick(okbohn) mentioning that they were having another run at some point so maybe inquire with him if they suit your fancy.I tend to buy single blade knives that are easy to open, and wonder if they make a single blade owl.
I went home from work at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon today - then I remembered I had to get some shooting patches for the firerange next week. So I went to a local hunting store and bought the patches. I chatted a little with the owner - a great man with great knowledge about firearms, ammunition and knives...
I saw a F. Hartkopf Stag Lockback with a spear blade ... and bought ...
I saw an 2-knives Ebony Opinel set in a wood case... and bought it ...
... and I don´t regret it![]()
