Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

I have an UN-X-LD Primitive Bone Calf Roper on the way, with nice and gnarly scales. Pics to follow.

Well, the words "Got" and "Order" figure in this post, perhaps not in quite the right order....

Just received;

L to R - #33, #26, #68, #72, #36, #12, #73, #85, #73, #66.
Buffalo Horn, Ivory, Snakewood, Cocobolo, Burnt Stag, Ivory, Ebony, Cocobolo, Cocobolo, Bruised Banana Bone.

In case you hadn't guessed, I like cloud shields and long pulls....

Contemplating my next choice right now. Decisions, decisions.... :D

I have one traditional on order, a Blind Horse Camp MUK (medium Nessmuk), I can't wait! Should be here before Father's Day. Everything else I had on order has come in, so no packages for me for awhile :D

What a great array.

I'd love a closer gander at the ivory #26....

Trying to decide what I should get now. Case bare head trapper (CV and bone hopefully), GEC/Northfield/Tidioute etc 73 single blade trapper (slipjoint only, no lockbacks or linerlocks) or a Schatt and Morgan Heritage series 2012 premium stockman, with bone scales (whew). The Lanny's Clip from Case is on the horizon, but that is usually available in the fall, and my go to spots haven't updated their sites with the "pre-order" status. The one that I am most looking forward to searching for is the 73 single blade. I have a single blade 23 slipjoint, a Northfield, and it is one of my favorites. I need to carry it enough so that I am not afraid of it closing on my fingers every time I use it. Really interested in seeing the Heritage stockman though. A bare head trapper has been sitting at a junk mall in PA, about a half hour from me, with a super high price tag on it, for the past two years. The dealer doesn't accept offers, sticker price and that's it.

I think about it from time to time ;) ...

Here, best shot I have at the moment;

By far the tightest one of the bunch, VERY manly spring. Aside from that, I see this one as being a favorite, it feels nice and the size is good. I see a few more in the future....

Thanks! I've had the privilege of seeing just one in person. Its spring was so stiff, the blades were hard to open even with a blade key-- not confidence inspiring.

Once I had it open and in hand, however, I was smitten. For some reason, the pen blade especially makes me laugh, that little turtle-tail of a projection out of the proportionally substantial handle. I like this pattern very much, although I'm as yet unclear on a preferred main blade, clip or wharncliffe.

Like the calf roper too:)

Gave my #85 Harness Jack in Primitive Bone to a real friend. Have consoled myself by ordering an A.G. Russell Single blade clip Sowbelly Trapper in brown Rucarta. Not much posted on the single blade version, thoughts gratefully received....

Found an outfit who'll sell me a Yeller Case Sowbelly with CV blades.

I've never had a Sowbelly and have been toying with the idea of trying one for a a couple of years. This opportunity seemed like the right time to experiment with that pattern.

Waiting on a Buck custom shoppe 501 in S30V and jigged water buffalo. Thinking very hard about the Ka-bar dog's head lockback in D2 and ram's horn... damn purty knife!

Just received a Ken Erickson whittler from the Exchange and only have two knives on order at present, one from Ken and one from Ryu.

I have my eye on that one also.

It's been a while since I've had something new and I'm looking forward to this one. It will be on its way to me tomorrow, hope Jared doesn't mind me stealing his pics...
