I believe my first (and last/only?) knife purchase of 2023 will be a (slightly larger than the Toferner Celtic pocket/neck knife) forged Toferner "Viking" style pocket/neck knife, on or about 01-01-23.
I'll post a picture when it's ordered, and after it gets here.

My absolute last knife purchase of '22 was today, 12-29-22. Even worster, the Toferner I was planning to get is currently sold out. No telling if ittle be my first (only?) knife purchase of '23. Probably won't be the "Only" ... not sure  why, but I want a daddy Barlow.

Ordered today:
Marbles MR529 Orange & Black 4.75 inch closed 4 blade Scout/Camp Knife. Not one of waynorth 's Charlie's "Texas Camp Knives", but it is roughly the same size, more affordable, and  much more available. If a functional Texas Camp Knife comes available, is within my budget, and I have the funds at the time, (Yeah ... Yeah ... I know ... not happening in this lifetime.) I'll get it.

Rough Rider RR1736 (large) Classic Carbon Work Knife with old style (traditional forum approved) TL29 type/style push to release tab liner lock.
I want to see if I like the large sodbuster more than the junior. (plus it's yellow, and has a carbon steel blade. )

Lastly, a re-order of the RR1736 Classic Carbon Canoe.
The one I received earlier (see quoted message) has an issue I decided not to fix with my off brand Dremel. Namely the match strike pulls are only about 1/2 as deep as the pulls on my other knives in the series.
I could send it in for replacement under warranty, but with my (so called) "luck", when they received my defective one, it would be sold out, resulting in getting the Carbon Classic 2, or one of the stainless versions, that don't have yellow covers, to match the Barlow or XL stockman I have of the same series, that will be paired with the canoe.
I did send an email asking them to check the one being sent in this order to make sure it does not have the same issue, ant that the blades open easily.

Yep, few different models I have a regular culpepper with black micarta covers. They're made in China, pretty dang good quality though imo.The one I have is 7CR17MoV steel, seems decent enough. The new all copper one has D2 and at a good price imho. Found a pic online showing some patina on the copper,this thing gonna look sweet after some use!

Kershaw also has a nice Culpepper model with red jigged bone scales and blade in D2. It's a mt..site special. Real nice.

You should look into vintage Kershaw knives,they wasn't always just tactical moderns

I'm 95% ambidextrous (I don't write lefty,but I can with practice) so guess they'd only had to beat on me every other day

For a whopping 6 days, I’ve stuck to my guns and not ordered any knives.

I am however still waiting on my last knife from 2022 - this Case Mini Trapper in S35Vn with jigged buffalo horn scales. These have been in back order since October. Hopefully soon!
