I very seldom believe a saber grind as you have done here is great. After a couple of sharpenings the edge becomes very thick. on the other hand it looks like some good grinding so far has been done.

looks good, nice finish ! i do agree with frank. also the higher the grind, the easier it will cut and go through stuff, because the blade gets a slimmer V shape, and becomes a full wedge. and it will weigh less. with a dropped point as you have on yours, the spine will get some distal taper when you bring the bevel close to the spine. maybe try a 3/4 bevel on the next blade, and a full height after that one.
 
Nice work so far. I like that your tip comes to a sharp point. Some beginners end up with a slightly rounded tip. I agree that a bit more care could be taken in the future getting all the scratches out but good solid work there. I'm with John. Try a taller bevel or full flat grind with the next one.
