Whatever happened to this knife i have?

I have KA-BAR Fixed blade that is apparently no longer in production, and i can find no information on it anywhere. they arent even on ebay. But this is no ordinary KA-BAR, the blade is called a WartHog model. Its alot shorter, thicker and deeper than the traditional 7 something ish KA BAR blade. the fixed blade is attached to a Kraton-G rubberized handle. came with a black plastic sheath. Anyways this is my favorite KA-BAR and i am afraid to use it as i believe it t6 be fairly rare. as far as i know production of the fixed blade warthog was ceased in 2008. i believe mine to be made in 2007 or 2008. so in order to try and preserve this rarity (and great knife) i got a USMC leather handled Full size for chores and hunting and what not. just ordered a HK soldat folder should be good stuff. IF anyone knows anything about the WartHog please fill-me-in

I have always liked the WartHog's blade shape. I don't have the fixed blade, but I do have the WartHog folder. I wish I would have got the plain edge instead of the partialy serrated, but all things considered it is a good knife.

i don't think they are as rare as you think,Tactical Knives TV had them for sale on Tuesday nights sale.

yeah the top picture is what i have, the bottom (newer) warthog fixed-i believe to be imported as on KA-BAR's website all the machete's and kukri's with that same handle are made in taiwan while the traditional stacked leather or kraton g are made in USA. but man do i love that blade. would inflict some serious damage on a would-be attacker.
