What'r you wanting for your 12th birthday? A Fiddleback Knife!!

Thought yall would appreciate this story. She has been an enthusiast of my hobby pertaining to sharp/pointy things for a few years now. Last year she asked for a traditional tomahawk which I was more than happy to gift (I own over 50 hand forged hawks). At Christmas, she asked/received a youth compound bow (think: Hunger Games). So .. with all that, a knife was an expected progression.

Today I come home from training to find her whittling ... so I've got her working on a 'try stick'. :D

She sounds like a cool kid Bud! My 8 year old and 6 year old tried their hands at whittling last week and are wanting some more Daddy time soon. I don't think they are ready for a try stick yet, but hopefully someday!

Love this thread. I have "had" to share several knives with my 17-year-old daughter.

I'm 15, I have a sister and all my life I have thought to myself, I would never want a daughter. Many reasons, drama, clothes, drama, oh and did I mention the drama. Seeing this thread made me think differently, knowing that there are many children who have been raised the right way (like your little rockstar) and who can fend for themselves just gives me hope for the future when I decide to have kids. Besides, really can't chose anyway. Other than that, I love the knife
