Today, my big man turns 6!

Generally we have his party outside. Today, it is raining......looks like all day. We have a small house, but luckily we have a completely finished heated/cooled garage that we can use as necessary. So, we can put all the people in there.

But, we planned the party about a month ago. I love to cook....I asked the wife "what do you want me to make?" Deep fried turkey, she says. Okay, not a big deal A MONTH AGO! :D

Since I have to do this outside, and in the spirit of bushcraft....what do I do? Get out the hammock tarp, of course!!! :D

This should help keep the adults from thinking about the rain:

Finally, here is my big man with his growing knife collection. I have to thank jontok for donating two of those knives to him!

I already have a Breeden, so if he gets a Fiddleback, or JK knife before me, I am going to be really ticked! :D Spoiled little guy...... :D

The party is still later today, so wish me luck.

I just wanted to share with the extended WS&S family.

very cool photos and I love that setup.

Looks like a budding knifeknut you got there!

Good luck today,

Brett

It's raining ALL over southern MI today, but it looks like you've got a plan. Have a great B-day party. Oh, by the way... I just checked out your on line shop. Very nice site with quality goods.

Great thinking. The Weber Kettle grill is the best grill out there.

Happy Birthday to your son, he's pretty lucky to have a Dad into knives!

Yeah, dude. You'd be no kind of outdoorsman if you weren't able to figure out how to deep-fry a turkey and tap a keg in the rain. . . :D

Happy birthday to your son! You guys are all so young, with a 6 year old son, my grandaughter will be 6 in February! It`s pouring rain here too, and kind of humid, I`m out in the shop grinding away, but that cold beer sure looks good!

It's nice when your skills are actually put to good use. Nice thinking!

Tell your son happy birthday, but I have a question, what's the knife on the left?

Looks like a hot setup for a rainy afternoon. Your son with the knives is just great. Happy Birthday to him. Boy, do I wish I could be six all over again sometimes:D

He looks pretty happy already! Wishing him a bushcrafters year ahead, it's a great age your brain is like a sponge, you learn so much. Have a great day, rain or no rain.

Very cool !

Happy birthday to the little guy from the Pit family !!!!

I'm betting that Heineken keg gets turned into something survival like when the fluids all gone !!!!!

All so young? My grand son is 17! (How come there's no emoticons with tears running down the face? )

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BRIANGANDREWS JUNIOR!!!!!! :D

Thank you guys for all the birthday wishes. It means a lot. I will be sure to pass them a long to my son, and we will check out this thread together tomorrow.

Despite the rain, it all went great. As fire draws every male, all the guys had to hang out around the "fire" watching the turkey cook, drinking beer and calling my tarp the "beer tent." :D

This one really had me cracking up.......

Tell your son happy birthday, but I have a question, what's the knife on the left?

It is a bark river classic hunter, in birds eye maple. I know, I know.....it is an expensive knife for a little guy, but he stole it, and I don't have the heart to get it back from him.

I'm betting that Heineken keg gets turned into something survival like when the fluids all gone !!!!!

HA HA! I am going to make the world's largest alcohol stove with it!!! Seriously, I was thinking of making something out of that huge can :D

Thanks again guys. You are all great.
