Whats a Good SAK

there are three different size Victorinox Cyber tools. I have the middle-sized one.

Even though it's supposedly for working on computers, it's actually the best all-around-every-day-go-to-work-around-the-house SAK in my considerable experience with SAKs and Multi-tools.

It even has little Torx drivers for the pivots of your knives. ;)

Just to be clear (three sizes):
Cybertool 29
Cybertool 34
Cybertool 41
Cybertool LITE (new in US for 2005 - same size as a 41, but has magnifier and LED light instead of saw/file/chisel layer)
and of course (not available in US so far and actually a fourth size)
Cybertool XL

Edit: There was a
Maxi CyberTool XXLT:

It appears that it is discontinued, but that's a whole different size again!
So there are/were actually 5 sizes of cybertools (end edit)

I really like the cybertools..

The idea of an SAK is to have it with you at all times. This means that you don't want something too thick, too heavy, or too clumsy to carry around constantly.
I'm with Jeff on this -
in fact, there's a whole thread on this idea,
with lots of interesting feedback/discussion:

Minimalist SAKs

There's also this thread:

SAK - Purchase Rationale

If you want a discussion on most of the tools generally available on a SAK - see this tool-by-tool comparison:

SAKs - Victorinox or Wenger

followed by a warning -

UNBELIEVABLE!!! SAK Quality....

Hmmm. Scratch that. Mine is the 29 and I've never felt it came up short for every-day urban carry. I imagine if I had the 34 it would be less comfortable to carry and it wouldn't always be with me like my 29 is. I've got the blue one. It's PRETTY! I've carried it daily for years.

Dang! I followed the link. I just wanted to see a bigger picture, but it's gone. :grumpy:

My EDC is a Victorinox Rucksack. And I do mean EDC. It goes into my left front pocket, regardless of whether I'm wearing jeans to the office or a suit to go fishing, first thing every morning.

Every morning, ever since I lost its predecessor, a Super Tinker.

My next purchase might be a Soldier. I've been eyeing one for a while in a shop window that i always pass, never had the cash though, and didn't think too much of it. But i should probably pick one up, i ended up finding a Victorinox Secretary today and i think its gunna get me hooked on SAKs.

I'm sorry but I can't think of which SAK would be right for you.I have so many ,and love them all, that I couldn't pick just one.It must be a Victorinox for me tho.tom. ;)

I think the Huntsman has the best combination of tools for me, and is as big as I'd want to EDC. I also like and EDC the Climber and the Wenger Standard Issue (like the Soldier but with a bail for use with a lanyard).
