Whats a good tough cell phone ?

Yeah, I just can't go back. I text way too much to go back to triple tapping the keys.

Most phones that have a normal keypad will allow texting in T9 or "word" mode. This eliminates the triple tapping of keys and in my opinion is actually easier than a full keyboard.

Here's a site dedicated to it.

Just another option to think about if you need to do a lot of texting.

how about a blackberry or iphone with the otterbox defender cases? http://www.otterbox.com/

Those rubber armored cases are great at protecting the phones from bumps and moderate falls. But I doubt they'd be much use at all if your phone became immersed in water. It sounds like the Gzone is head and shoulders above the rest in that regard.

Just agonized over an att phone. The rugby was on offer for free (refurb) and the tundra for a premium. I went with a completely different phone for features. Why? Well, last phone was hurt, I'm not any better with phones, but because there is no waterproof phone for att, I'm left with getting a case for the phone no matter which I choose. If I could get a gzone, I would have. At this point, at least a body glove, and probably some waterproof one as well.

At least until the Sonim is a subsidized phone... drool.

Motorola i580...(NEXTEL/Sprint)

Milspec for shock, dust, moisture.

Advantage over the i560 would be blue-tooth.

I've had it for about 3 years I think and still going strong.

i have the G'zOne Boulder and so far it seems ok. but ive had problems with it turning off randomly and restarting. also i hate texting on it. it is very delayed which is very frustrating. but it is a good size and i like that it is suppose to be super sturdy. so we'll see how it'll last.
