What's a spearpoint blade good for?

Great photo of a great knife :-)
Here is its pen pal

I like them for the versatility. My all time favorite blade shape is a drop point, but spears function almost as well at slicing and in fixed blades drill better than other shapes.

By far my favorite blade shape. An all-purpose blade to me. It's sleek and maintains a low profile when closed. With clip point blades the spine rides too proud in the closed position for my taste. The spear is low and sleek when in the closed position.

So what's this? A modified spear....drop point (or both)? It looks perfect whatever it is!

They are my preferred blade profile. To me they are more versatile and seem to be quite a bit stronger. I don't usually care for a clip point and they often seem flimsy to me unless I'm trying to extract a splinter.

I like them a lot, especially when they have a longpull and a nice swedge. See a GEC 85 Northfield for what I mean......

Spearpoint is the blade shape i disliked the most until i got my Moose...probably the best all round profile there is IMO... FES...

Spearpoints are my favorite main blades. Particularly spearpoints with lots of belly. Great all around blade.
