What's a tooth worth these days?

Number one son lost another tooth today and although I don't plan on changing what the "Tooth Sissy" leaves, I was wondering how fair our local sissy is compared to your neighborhood sprites...

Grandpa gave us his collection of $2 bills a while ago for Tooth Sissy cash and they've been getting recycled through three kids now that are loosing teeth.

So, what's the going rate these days? :D

I'd start with a Dime.

Then let them Wheel & Deal.:)

It'll be a great lesson that they will then use all their lives. :)

Synthesist, $20.00....my goodness you almost caused a heart attack....but then I misread your post...I read $20.00 each....
No I don't have a clue why.

My youngest is 30 so it didn't matter to me personally....however,
My oldest and his Lady are close to giving us our first Grandchild, so it might matter alot sooner than I had anticipated...(smile)

I believe baby teeth have recently been found to be a source of stem cells. Better than adult stem cells and less controversial than embryonic stem cells. I have no idea what the market might be for them. You may be able to leave the kid a pittance then sell them to some medical outfit. Make a little cash for a new knife.

I think you and Gollnick are on the right track.

My youngest lost his first tooth a few years back and put it under his pillow. After a few too many adult beverages, I was reminded that I needed replace the tooth with some $$. Long story short...I put a $50 there by accident. Of course in the morning I hear the "WOOOOHOOOOO" followed by screams of protest from my oldest son. In the end.......the $50 was replaced with a $5 which became the going rate for a tooth.

Damn...Just think of all the candy he could have bought with that $50.:D.:D.

We're getting near the end of this phase with my third and youngest child. For us it's always been a dollar coin, which I then buy from them "for my collection" for $1.25. We've kept the same coin circulating for awhile that way. Oh yeah, I give $1.50 for the new presidential dollar coin, in a recent update.

I can post the invoice from my visit to the dentist last week.
That sucked.
Hooray for insurance.
