What's Buck's input in the Strider Buck?

I was just examining my Strider Buck Tanto some more, and I felt myself wondering what exactly Buck's input in this knife was.

The overall design looks more like a Strider than a Buck folder (to me, that is), the G-10 scales, the pretty thick titanium liners (though not as thick as on the customs) and of course the Paul Boss heat treatment. The steel used may differ, but then the ATS-34 is what Strider uses on non-folding knives, as far as I know.

I used to own a few Buck folders, but I cannot find any resemblence between these and the Strider Buck, though the latter does seem to have quite a bit in common with the Strider Customs.

Any thoughts/info on this?

Buck is able to mass produce the folder, which they sat down and designed together, notice how much smaller it is from the AR. Also, Buck 1st production runs were done in BG-42, so you could get the same steel. There are a little of minor differences than the AR.

I think it is cool that Buck, who is know for their really nice lockbacks, is making a hardcore, heavy duty knife. Kind of a 180, but look at Harley's V-Rod.

Just my two centavos.

Designed by Strider.
Produced by Buck.
I would guess Buck's input would be in terms of realisticly manufacturing them (ie, cut some corners) but still something worthy of the "FWP."
I like mine quite a bit.
In fact, I've got a mini spearpoint bg 42 I'm looking to trade for an ats-34 mini tanto-any takers?
cheers,
Derek
