The Amsterdam knife porn thread was awesome. I might be wrong but I think all of those were Tiachung made.
What are the rumors of Golden releases?


I was in the thread where Sal dropped a very specific hint for the Chinook 2. He said it'll have a Power lock like the Tatanka. This was right around the beginning of December. So I'm thinking it's dropping this summer.

Last night I asked for a sprint of Native Chiefs. Sal replied to me saying they don't run sprints on new knives! The Chief is coming soon! WooHoo!

So what other rumors can be gathered from around the forums and shared here?
 
I don't think any of that implied that it will be here by summer. Seems to me if pics aren't shown to us in Mr .Blonde's thread it most likely isn't being released this year. Even some of the knives shown won't be out this year. It's just the nature of the beast. The good news is that there are plenty of other great designs to choose from in the mean time.
 
Was there Golden releases in Amsterdam too. I only noticed Tiachung.

Of course I was drooling pretty bad. I certainly wasn't looking it branding
 
Italy, Taiwan, Japan and China. I heard there were some designs from golden that were shown at the meet but weren't in Mr. Blondes thread. A Manix flipper and some other flipper designs by Eric but I'm not sure those will be made in Golden.
 
Yeah, there were no Golden models in Mr Blonde's thread but you know there has to be a couple released this year.

I hope there will be a new model or two. :D

I prefer Golden's and aside from picking up a YO2, I already have the current models that I like :(
 
Sorry if I gave the impression that there would be a Chief. Not so. It will be a while before we can add to Golden. We do have 3 new models in Queue for Golden, but they're more than 6 months away.

I'm fine with that - pacing is important and there were enough other new models that I want!!

There's another Native variation I can't remember the name of and a Manix flipper, Mantra(?) rings a bell?? We'll see.
I'm in no hurry, the models already in the lineup are going to break my budget. ;)

Not really sure but I bought over 100 knives last year. That's why I need a budget...
And I remember the name of that Native variant, Shaman. It is supposed to be between the Native and the Chief in size I think.
 
LOL I think I've spent over $2000 since Jan 1st. At least I'm not drinking. :cool:

I did see Shaman in an old thread. I was googling so I don't know if I was in here or Spyderco.com

Reports mentioned a Shaman proto being at Amsterdam and having a Compression-lock and slightly larger size than current N5?
Was definitely sad to never see photos of it show up in Mr. Blondes thread after attendees had mentioned it...
 
I would be all over a Military 2. Given the stated purpose of the knife (designed for soldiers), I would hope it would not come with a liner lock. A liner lock is the worst kind of lock for the Military. Give us a powerlock, compression lock, ball bearing lock, anything but a liner lock. Unlike civilians, soldiers might actually have a need to use the knife in self-defense, and liner locks are not strong enough for that function.
