"Here lies BenL, slain by Mrs. L, for ordering a HOGB8.
But he finally guessed a riddle."
I've always liked the feel of B8 but never got one because the point seemed like it could stand to be dropped a little. If they do that I don't think I'll be able to resist.
REK did this for you?! How does the thumb ramp feel?+1...that's why I sent mine to Josh...
and that's why I'll do the same with this release...

Hell yea, how about .45? Now were talking.33. Or even .41. There is NO such thing as too thick ! Even for resC handles. Bring on the thick sliced bacon Bossman.
I'm with you on this one. It's INFI, there is no need for it to be thicker and heavier. If the steel is so great why do you need to put more meat behind the edge (which raises the price, I'm guessing). I always find it hard to chop the fresh springy branches with the heavy choppers. This is path clearing knife type chopping. Heavy, thick blades IMHO seem to only exceed in chopping down small trees or splitting wood. This is when I will just go with a small axe. If anything it should be thinner, but no biggie. This is a Busse knife, the bigger the better, thats what its about! I can't wait to see what we are in for! What would be the advantage of a thicker Basic 8 ? It seems in the case of the BB13 that it becomes a better chopper when thinned out.
Can't believe that you could break the Basic 8 so why would you want it thicker and beefier ?
The basic 8 is one of my favorites, an outstanding knife for it's size.
I felt that way about a few blades but the one B8 I handled just felt right even with that big ricaso. But it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they extended the cutting edge back and put a tiny sharpening choil on it.Still No pics
How do you guys feel about that Huge ricaso area above the choil ? Waste of space ? (Plzz dont ban me for saying that lol) i never had B8, But hot rid of my B6 because it seemed like the cutting edge was way to small and Un proportional to Overall length.
Also wondering why everyone wants such a thick blade... the thicker the blade the harder it is to chop... can easily sink a machete deeper into a cut vs an axe.
