What's easier to open, a nail nick or long pull?

I prefer knives that are easy on the nails. Nail nicks usually provide more leverage but a long pull works just as well if the knife doesn't have heavy springs.
 
I think their position on the blade is more important. The farther they are from the pivot, the easier they are open. The shape/style doesn't really matter in my opinion.
 
If you're worried about your nails, try pinching your blades. It's the easiest way to open them in my opinion assuming no other blades
obstruct the blade you're opening.
