What's for dinner this holiday?

Those meals sound mighty fine.

Nice eye for the Le Creuset! I love my set! I mostly braise and stew with my LC dutch oven. It's so well seasoned that as it heats up, with no oil, it gives of the smell of salty caramelized mirepoix. That dutch oven is almost 10 years old.

Ah yes, YES! Cooking/stewing in cast iron just adds character to the dish doestn't it? I happen to do most of my (stir) frying/baking/stewing in my moms old wadjan (Indonesian style, conical shaped, cast iron wok) that's at least 35 years old (as far back as i can remember...). No brand off course, but anyone trying to pick it up for a good old Dutch scrubbing and cleaning better be prepared for trench warfare, I tell you!

On a different note, overhere Le Creuset currently pretty much sets the standard of cast iron kitchen tooling. They are well known and their style is often imitated.

disclaimer: I have no stock in Le Creuset or any of their suppliers. That I know off...
