Picked up this Weaver Cub yesterday used! It's one of the steel versions, and is nice and beefy! It came threaded with much lighter thread, so I spent the day tweaking the tension and learning how to use and not use the machine.

2 layers of veg tan, pre dyed 8/9 cowhide and 1 layer of veg tanned water buffalo 8/9 oz. Learning how to turn corners and back stitch and figuring out the backstitching. I may saddle stitch by hand to do the back stitching?

Didn't get pics, but I played this morning and added in a 4th layer of 8/9 veg tan water buffalo and then a 5th layer, machine handled it no problem and sewing thru 5 layers of 8/9 oz didn't feel much different than going thru 2 layers of 8/9 in terms of hand cranking the wheel. 5 layers was going really well until I ran out of thread on my bobbin...lol!

That's awesome, I've got one of those cheap Chinese hand cranked jobs, and it's kinda a POS. That thing looks like a heck of upgrade from the one I have. Did you get a good deal?
