Brand new Kershaw Lahar I brought home yesterday and absolutely love the knife except for the clip was loose so I grabbed my phillips and tried to give them a snug and they wouldn't tighten actually they felt like they were somewhat stripped unfortunately and with no real pressure applied. Are the screws stripped out of the g10 scales or are they stripped out of the liner lock do you figure?

Puzzled right out of the box,
Sean

I took them out and tried just tightening the screw inside the holes without the clip and they seem to do so just fine. It's almost as if the screws are not long enough to really bite into the steel liner lock when I include the clip. Anyhow I was just told to run it back to the shop I bought it from and there would be no problem with an exchange.
Has anyone else encountered this problem at all? Thanks I appreciate your input.

Yeah, the non-pivot screws on Kershaws are usually T6 but on the Lahar they are phillips  . Anyways, I didn't experience the same issue on my Lahar. Make sure there is no debris under the clip as you are attaching it and tightening the screws. Also, apply a little more pressure to the screws as you tighten them. Could be the texture of the G-10 scales may be lifting the clip high enough for the screws not to grab the liner. I dunno... If all else fails, return/replace or call Kershaw. From what I hear, they have excellent customer service.

Yeah try a new lahar, maybe those screws weren't seated properly. All lahars and Avalanches, blackouts, and possibly boas have phillips heads IIRC.
