What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

On a side note...package coming in via Canada Post, expected delivery today :D

I am giddy with anticipation.

No, it looks like it is held up in customs. It has been past ten days. Please PM me your phone number so I can file a ticket with Canada Post. They will initiate an investigation, which usually seems to light a fire under customs/USPS behinds.

So whenever I have a Bittyrang on the bench, I either have this going through my head:

Well, it's alright to be little bitty
A little hometown or a big old city
Might as well share, might as well smile
Life goes on for a little bitty while

Or this:

Rang Rang, Bitty Bitty, Rang Rang!

So crazy it takes longer to get a blade from Canada than from Poland or Romania. David must be on a watch list for being a scoundrel🤣

My package was only in customs for a few days this time. It was awesome, I didn't expect it for another week

If ten days pass from the time I ship your package to the time you still don't have it in hand, message me and tell me your phone number (if I don't have it already) and I will file a ticket. None of this "I don't want to bother you" stuff I sometimes get. While I appreciate the sentiment, I probably have more anxiousness about you getting your knife than you do so let's make it happen!

And the reason for the phone number: Canada Post kicks the tickets back if the receiver's phone number is not on it. They'll never try to call you (or haven't so far to my knowledge) but they will close the ticket just the same. I tried in the beginning, by putting my number twice, once for mine and once for the receiver. Then someone from Canada Post backend would email me and say "we need the receiver's phone number if you want us to investigate, or we'll close the ticket"

Alan Jackson for the win!

One of the songs I actually didn't mind that used to come on at the diner where I cooked in my early 20s. That's how I know it, not being a country guy per se. But there were some pretty ridiculous country songs back then. That was one of the good ones.

Thanks but you sent payment. It's your turn.

I suspect that your friend will treasure his new knife. There is no more meaningful gift that one you poured your heart and hands into.

Every time I use my fathers tools, I feel his presence watching me doing the things he taught me.

Bill
Just lost my dad in February. Haven’t gotten into his tools yet. Well, other than the stuff I’d borrowed and not returned.
