What's in a name?

Paddling_man.

My sign on from the early days of dial-up modem bbs to view river flow gauges. My "life" - throughout my twenties and into my thirties - was whitewater kayaking in the southeast. I usually logged about 65-75 eight hour days on the river(s) annually. I taught on the weekends and competed a bit. There are a couple of dusty medals in a box that I can't quite place right now. I met my wife when she was a student of mine in a whitewatwe kayak class back in '94. I've paddled all of the rapids where Deliverance was filmed. (Three rivers in reality.)

Now? I'm an old man with two kids who haven't hit their teens yet and i've been in the stillwater midwest at least a decade too long.

Kind of like a tattoo, my sign on is a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.

Next?

eXOtics knives is the name of my new and improved knife shop: eXOtic Custom Knives and Tools (formerly X.O. Knives and Cutlery). My wife designed the XO logo, since then I've been know as XO. Why I call it eXOtic now? Because I deal in hard to find U.S. Custom Made Knives, such as Busses, which can not be easily obtain where I live.

It's my license plate. Imagine you are "tool"ing along in the left lane and I come up behind you with a flash of the high beams.

You think, who is that ___ . A glance in the mirror to look at the plate and then......move into the empty right lane.

Thank you. :)

I'm new here, and definitely not a Hog (yet). But I'm interested in Busse and Bussekin, so I'm reading and keeping my mouth shut for a while.

Bruno Pezzey was a boyhood soccer hero who died in a car crash in Austria. I've been 'bruno' in various groups since high school ('87).

Shunsui is a minor character in the Bleach anime series who likes to drink sake, take naps, and chase women, not necessarily in that order.

Mine's from when I was heavy into traditional archery. Walking the woods stump shootin' with blunt tipped arrows was fun and GREAT practice for instinctive shooting. I kept it on all the other forums and it kinda fits as you can bust stumps with bullets and blades too!!! Never knew you could have so much fun with a rotting root top huh?:D
