Paddling_man.
My sign on from the early days of dial-up modem bbs to view river flow gauges. My "life" - throughout my twenties and into my thirties - was whitewater kayaking in the southeast. I usually logged about 65-75 eight hour days on the river(s) annually. I taught on the weekends and competed a bit. There are a couple of dusty medals in a box that I can't quite place right now. I met my wife when she was a student of mine in a whitewatwe kayak class back in '94. I've paddled all of the rapids where Deliverance was filmed. (Three rivers in reality.)
Now? I'm an old man with two kids who haven't hit their teens yet and i've been in the stillwater midwest at least a decade too long.
Kind of like a tattoo, my sign on is a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.
