How did you get the rod out?

for the older ones remove screw , for the newer version w/ epoxied rod ,you'll need to heat up handle until epoxy lets loose the pull out and epoxy new rod

mine has cotton balls with pj and some dryer lint. keep the ah1 on the para cord to strike with.

Cricketdave, wow! I love the AH1 Kydex sheath, it's fantastic! I like the idea of the AH1 as a striker, I've been after an excuse to get a bunch of them. Only money is stopping that now.

Do you pull the AH1 out to strike, or just use the spine as you grasp the kydex? Seems like a nifty idea either way!

Not sure CD does it but I just hold the AH1 in hand... Shotgunner made the kydex for the AH1's

I have mine stuffed with PJ soaked Cotton Balls. As a lanyard, I have about 7 feet of paracord in a cobra wrap.

I just have some dryer lint in mine. Its clipped to my 6's pouch. In the pouch I have some more tinder, a SAK Farmer, lighter, compas, wistle, some cord, band aids, tweezers, small prybar, esee card and a metrocard (much thinner, more flexible card that can be used to get into areas),

I dont have the ESEE fire kit yet but will be getting one soon. Im placing an order from goingger and was hoping to pick up a longer fire steel to swap into the ESEE kit once I pick one up. What is the diameter of the ESEE fire steel so I know which one to order?
