Canvas Micarta, still very nice....

Guys, this my first reply on the Busse combat thread. I only have one Busse a SAR-4. In fact it's in the mail to me right now. The picture below was taken buy the guy I bought it from. Really looking forward to this knife.

Tim, that SAR 8 is either linen or canvas, it is'nt G10, I have'nt smoothed it down to know for sure .... the only way I can tell for sure is if upon smoothing it down I see a sort of digi-cam flecked effect .... in hindsight looking at two pictured by me which were the BWM CG and the KZII, these are probably canvas from these earlier pic's .... after using them for a while the oil from your hands diminishes the burlap weave look and makes it look more "solid" in colour .... akin to linen micarta .... once the grip oils up a bit they feel rather similar too .... I would need to wash them with washing up liquid to bring them back to an original look to know for sure .... the "feel" is hard to tell apart for me also because I take them to a smooth surface ....

You should be looking forward to that knife--I think all the SAR models are sick!!

Thanks, I definitely see the difference now.

Not always: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=517982&highlight=linen

This little demon is only 1/8" thick (.125") and is ground to a very fine edge. . . That makes this the thinnest INFI EDC that we have ever released!!!!

It will be offered this Saturday in the Razorganzaaaaaa at an unbeliveable price for a true Busse Custom!

It is designed for slicing and not for prying. . . but no worries as our warranty is always there just in case you get carried away. . .

We currently call it the "Cultellus" (which is latin for "Little Knife" or HOG latin for "Cult Of The HOG" ). . .

This lightweight little satin finished slicer comes in with an overall length of only 8" and a blade length of 3 1/2". The handles are handshaped linen Tiger Hide micarta. YOWZA!!!. . . This knife is killer cool!!!!

This is the ONLY time that the "Cultellus" will be offered in this blade finish/handle configuration.

Good luck boys!!!

Jerry

The 1911 grips are canvas, while the Cultellus is linen:

Here's my very, very lonely Linen. Too bad because I love it; probably my favorite handle material - even more so than black paper.

Feel free to post it full screen as I don't know how. :o
