Just figured since I was thinking about it, that it'd be fun to hear from other knife makers... What's in your liquor cabinet?

Here's everything that's in mine.
My scotch whisky,
Ardbeg Supernova comitte bottling
The Macallan 12 year Sherry Oak
Auchentoshan Three Wood
The Balvenie 21 year Port Wood
1993 Laphroaig 12 year, single cask 3474 cask strength unfiltered (Signatory release, bottle 150/189)
Bowmore Legend
Tomatin 12 year
Tobermory 10 year (I wont recommend this one)

And a local whiskey distilled from grade B (the good stuff) Vermont maple syrup
Cabin Fever Maple Spirit Liqueur

18 yo Glenfiddich (my personal favorite)
21 yo glenlevit (havent opened this yet)
Several kinds of Burbon
Grey goose
A bottle of Jameson.
And I think there is some Soju in there some where as well.

Maple syrup liqueur?!? Good lord man, that sounds amazing... I'm from Wisconsin and a huge fan of maple syrup. I've used it to flavor homemade apple wines, it blends really well and has a nice smooth finish to it. I can only imagine how yummy a liqueur could be...

Other than the obligatory cheap canned beer and a bottle of vodka for the occasional Bloody Mary, all I have at the moment is some Jim Beam rye and a bottle of Booker's bourbon. The Booker's is my all-time favorite so far. I had a bottle of Basil Hayden over the holidays, but that didn't last long ;)

A whole lot of Scottish single malts. Too many to list here. The usual distilleries: MacAllan, Glenlivet, Glenfarclas, Glenmorangie, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Laphroig, Ardbeg, Lagavullin, Oban, Talisker, Dalwhinnie, The Balvenie, Highland Park, ........ and a lot more. I've been busy collecting.

Why?

A lifelong obsession coupled with much travel. Followed by diabetes, so the stock is dwindling at a ridiculously slow pace.:o

I do give out nice gifts.:D

[There's also a good selection of Bourbon and Tennessee whisky, plus the usual suspects - vodka, rum, brandy, cognac, gin ... that sort of thing.]

Rock ON witcher bad self, Nathan :D

I suspect non-drinkers are generally smarter than me... what kind of shop would I have today if I hadn't supported all those bartenders and waitresses all these years? I blame it on the rock'n'roll...

We all need a little something.

I blame it on 30 years in uniform!:)

1/2 bottle Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum, 1/2 bottle Jose Cuervo Black Medallion, 1/2 bottle Kahlua, and several bottles of Michelob light. And thank you for asking!

I just remembered the two bottles of Grolsch wayyyy in the back of the fridge... thanks gents, and here's to you! :D

Good grief, I can't spell any of it, so I just took a picture of the top shelf stuff.

Probably the most interesting thing there is the bottle to the left of the Bookers. That is a 1928 Louis Eschenauer Bordeaux Sauternes that has been in my family for over 30 years.

My brother and I opened it recently. Sauternes age well, but eight decades of mediocre storage rendered it undrinkable. Still cool though, drinking something that predates the great depression.

Glenlivit 12 year, Glenlivit 15 year French Oak reserve, Glenfiddich, Pussers Rum (why is the rum ALWAYS gone?) Korbel's Brandy, Blacksmith's Port, Goosewatch white port, Tower of London Brambleberry Brandy (no longer made :( ) Hazzlitt Vinyards ruby port. Black Jewel Mead, and some amazing homemade mead I traded some custom jewelry for at the party I met my wife at (we will open it on our 5th anniversary this summer)

I have type 2 diabetes now, I use the rum to drop my blood sugar ( a shot drops it about 15-20 points) when I eat too much

I live in Kentucky, they don't allow anything but Bourbon. LOL I am ambassador for Makers Mark So I have Bottle of it, and I have a Bottle of Woodfords Reserve. Wife has the girly stuff like tequila, rum, and SoCo.

Only in Kentucky is Bourbon County dry, and Christian County wet.

Makers Mark is good stuff

I never really got into scotch, I'm not sure why... guess I don't care much for the flavor of distilled peat moss...

:D

last time I drank was 15 years ago before I read this

Proverbs 31 1 to 9

1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Huh... I just don't drink because I think alcohol tastes like ass. And not the good kind. And it makes my workouts suck. But it's all good... to each their own :)
