Holy crap! That’s what I carry around every day! Seems like a lot when I list it out this way, but honestly it’s all incorporated into my everyday stuff so I don’t notice (keychain, belt, wallet, etc.)

You should see what I have on my dirt bike and my SUV!

Is that out of control?

That to me is the whole idea of a survival kit. A mimimal kit that you will always have on you. I just tried to upload some pics of my edc stuff, but can't get the host to take them. I like the idea that all of it can go with you naturally without having to remember to bring it.

OK here we go. These are the few things I EDC along w/ phone and some wax paper in my wallet. The knife is the profileringsknive from Ragnar, and the black light is an L2P w/ 123 adapter.

on my person at all times is my vic field master on a pocket lanyard, and a micro led.. In my shoulder bag (which I bring with me when I leave the house) is a wind breaker/Nalgene of water a VERY comprehensive FAK/ 50 ft of paracord/ an adjustable wrench/ a roll of duct tape/ a notebook/ mutiple pens/ a mini mag flashlight/ a book of indigenous edible plants/ a lighter and a small container of purell hand sanitizer... I live in an urban environment WHEN I move to some place more reural or when i'm in the field the contents changes.

I carry a SAK Trekker clipped to my pocket, a RAZR phone and a Windproof Lighter.

I never felt outgunned till I read that first post. Thats alot of stuff. Do you have pics?

thx for the pic, same LM wave as mine (my fav). wish I could get away w/ that sheath knife (not in Michigan - or is that below 3"??)

sorry, no camera. This forum makes me wish I had one though. I am constantly tweeking all my gear and kits on my dirt bikes, my person, my SUV, my pack. It never ends. And then there's all the stuff I keep just for sentimental reasons (USMC Ka-Bar, Belleville combat boots, all the SAKs...)

Too many toys, no $$ left for cameras!

3 1/8" of sharp part, 3 5/18" to the brass. You can get similiar knives that are slightly smaller.

I started to write all the good things about it, but my post started getting really long.:)

i usually just have my phone, wallet, i.d., a small gerber folding knife, and my keys. seems to be all i need. hey, w/e works for ya. i do have to ask. 50 feet of dental floss?? what do you use it for?

never had to use it, but in practicing I have found it good as sewing thread, fishing line, general purpose string. If you're careful, you can roll it very, very small.

Try getting a trial size roll and remove it from the dispenser. You get 12 yards and the roll is tiny. I even take it off the roll and make a little coil that ends up being pretty small but i find that about 25 feet is about all I can get in a wallet without causing an uncomfortable bulge.

I wish. Michigan has a 3" carry law, and in these parts you're likely to get hassled even for that. Jealous.

Digispam, that is a LOT of stuff! EDC for me currently is:

POCKETS:
  • Kershaw Ken Onion folder
  • Bic lighter
  • Wallet with ID, cash, credit & debit cards
  • A bazillion business cards
BELT:
  • Kahr P9 9mm
  • 2 Cell phones! :grumpy:
WEAR:
  • Paracord bracelet - 8 ft of 550 cord
  • Watch with built in compass - Probablly not callibrated right! :o
KEYCHAIN:
  • Spy Capule with magnesium filings (Outta cotton balls at casa de Flix! )
  • BSA Hot Spark
  • Photon II LED Light
This is daily around town stuff. In honesty, the Hot Spark, tinder, and Bic lighter are recent additions. I just felt naked after rading here and not having any firemaking tool on my person. :o

I keep a much more extensive selection of gear in my truck and if I'm heading out into the woods I add my PSK.

you're in trouble now, flix! now you're gonna be tweekin your kit and addin stuff. thats what happened to me. It never ends

These threads seem to come up about once a week, but I'll jump in on this one...

On any given day I'll have the following (if I'm wearing any type of pants!)
- S30V Native
- 'biner with keychain and photon II
- carhartt leather belt (hey, they're useful!)
- either my windproof butane lighter (has proved very reliable, more so than i expected!), bic, or a few packs of matches
- my all-important hat (typically fleece-lined cabela's ball cap, sometimes wool/thinsulate watch cap)

I figure unless I'm out in the Rockies or somehow whind up in Alaska, this is more than enough to get me out of most any situation I'll encounter relating to wilderness survival. Could be more complete, but the odds are such that its not practical... Now depending on what job I end up getting this summer this may drastically change!

Byrd Cara Cara in G10
Wallet with nothing special besides some sandpaper for edge maintenance
Mini Bic
Vic Classic and LED light on keychain along with car keys

I feel awfully minimal looking at the other lists here.
