What's in your pockets?

Pockets: Delica, a mini-kit with; sm.bic lighter, led, hemp cordage, ferro rod, parafin cotton balls, hooks and a SAK ambassador.

Leatherman ST and a CRKT Hammond ABC hook from paracord around neck and under arm.

That is just for short hikes.

Leatherman Ti, Photon light, mini-vial lighter, and I'm looking for a good whistle that isn't to bulk to have in my pocket or on my person.

Hmmm - I don't like stuff in my pockets when I hike - so I guess "lint" is my answer. I generally have a Delica around my neck though.

on belt: Ka-Bar MKII, LM Supertool, Gerber Infinity, usually a revolver in .22LR, .38 or .357 (depends on season and location)

t-shirt pocket: basic ID (drivers license, hunting license if needed) and a little cash in a tiny ziplock, keys w/ LM micra wrapped in a finger of an old glove liner so they don't clank

overshirt pocket: bugspray, compass, either three small tubes with 6 each .22 or two speedstrips

pants pockets: orange mesh vest (thigh pocket), work gloves (thigh pocket), about 25' of sisal twine, surveyor's tape, three or four 3x5 neon index cards, pencil

under pockets (wear sweats with thigh pockets in winter under utilities, or cut off version in summer): PSK, PMK (almost impossible to loose them like that)

Hat (either boonie style or watch cap, depending on season)

Nothing outside of regular EDC (unless we're talking about hunting or something). Just my Native, Sak manager, REI bottle opener, MTE rebel 1-AA led, wallet with some twine and whatever change and misc odds&ends fell into the pockets recently. And my smokes with a lighter or two.

Do you carry nine blades on you for a trip to the woods? Or is that the list of options you have for what to carry?

did you say CLOAK! its nice to hear someone on our planet still useing one,it sure would be nice to see a few pics of one.

Some people walk out the house with pockets stuffed to the brim it looks like.

:) Yeah, I was prepared to be a little incredulous at the comment of wearing a camelback around town. :) I pays to read: "When you go bumming around the woods, be it a hike or 3 day trek, what do you keep in your pockets and on your immediate person?"

Cloak? Of course! A cloak is the only appropriate attire to be worn with my utilikilt. http://www.utilikilts.com/index.php?page_id=46 I prefer the camoflauge version for bladeforum survival usage.

Not only is a cloak warm, yet capable of easy ventilation to avoid perspiring (medieval goretex!) but it allows one to conceal a large claymore (see Highlander) or two of those mallninja swords ala TMNT.
