If you walked out of the house right now what would be in your coat/pants pockets that would help you in a survival situation? I just wanted to see what kind if weird stuff you people are walking around with.:D
This is what is in my left and right coat pockets 24/7 and on my wrists whenever I leave the house. Its not much but I live in the inner city so I daily survival situation is pretty unlikely.

Benchmade Aries axis lock, Vic Executive
cell phone
original small Leatherman in aftermarket pouch, TOPS whistle, and firesteel tucked behind, PJCB in plastic straw
wallet... knuckle bandages, 2x2 blood stopper hemostatic gauze, MRE hot beverage bag
bandana

Key ring with Craftsman 4 way screwdriver, light, capsule with aspirin, capsule with eyeglass repair kit, and Victorinox Classic. Wallet with ferro rod, needle and thread, assorted bandaids, and lucky angel coin (sometimes money!). Extra Bic lighter, large bandana, and whatever knife I`m carrying, in my pockets.

Every day I have these on my person;
BM Ritter 552
Eagle Creek TriFold Wallet with these items inside wallet #
#AG Russell 2.5 Titanium Lockback folder
#BSA Hot Spark
#Craftsman 4 way Screwdriver
#Tinder Quick x2
MaraTac Aluminum AAA Flashlight on keys
Motorola Droid

I hate too many items in my pockets so this works for me.

Size 8 thong [USA size 4] black, half a Wensleydale, two lighters, dog whistle, half oz of bud [bit under], 2 lighters, a Kirby grip, and a couple of bits of bog roll.

keychain - princeton tec led light, uncle bills sliver grippers, tiny byrdd folding knife, fox 40 whistle

pants - spyderco military, bic lighter, in wallet - small flat diamond sharpening "card", fresnel lense and tdi last ditch kabar knife

coat - small 2 x 4 in coghlans personal first aid kit with self added fresnel lense, spark wheel and 2 tinder tabs and immodium, advil and roll of tums, 2 pr latex gloves
- 4ft of ducttape wrapped around a keno pencil....my favourite way of packing tape plus something to write with
- contracter garbage bag folded with elastic around
- light wool gloves and toque
- plastic personal kleenex package
I always leave this stuff in my coat until washing, so much easier to just grab the dog and go. I have used everything carried many times, seldom all at once.

Actually in my *pockets*? Not much - i don't like stuff in my pockets.

My car key, CS American Lawman, Blistex, my passport, vehicle registration, and a little change-purse with credit-card, some change and a few bills.

However, i carry a pretty complete daypack/EDC it's really *loaded*.

In this pic you can see what I have in my pockets. In the upper right part of the pic I have my left front and then right fron and then right back pocket. the other gear is what I have on my belt and around my neck.
IMG_0535.jpg

My pocket gear consist of in the left front pocket is 12' for orange 550 cord, some firstaid salve, small bic lighter, chapstick, my front right pocket is a small SAK on a lanyard of orange 550 cord with a spy capsule with a big ferro rod, then I have a tin filled with a roll of floss and then a small bic lighter, my back right pocket holds 2 bandanas a comb and a knife sharpener. my left back pocket holds my wallet.

fmajor007, Put some gear in your pockets, You might not really like gear in your pockets, but you can get over that little psychological quirk than you can recover from hypothermia. Start carrying some pocket gear so that when you get that custom knife you designed:thumbup: it will feel right at home on your belt with your pocket gear:D lol.

OK, since i opened a photo-bucket account for this sorta stuff, i'll start loading up photo's of my assorted gear. ;-)

@BryanBreeden - DUDE!?! You have enough hardware for both of us! lol

BTW, that knife design would definitely be too large to put on my belt for EDC over here! I'd be in prison in a heartbeat! You know where i live and just try to imagine the prison's.... no fun! I've some connections/friends in the law-enforcement/intelligence community, but that wouldn't be enough!

Today it was a wallet, belt, clip on watch with attached compass, Begg CIG folder, spare mag, Ruger LC9, and money.

I think I took the question too literally with “If you walked out of the house right now”. I was already in and out of the garden dog training [cheese and whistle]. I popped back in to grab a pipe reload from the drawing room and saw two items belonging to mah woman nearby. I pocketed those to put them where she could find them. The roll was just accrued rubbish. When I banged out the post above I was still barefoot let alone tooled up. I took the thread as a “make use of” kinda thing not “what would I equip myself with to go out”. I was wondering why so many of you sat around your homes all tackled up in case you went outside. I guess it wasn't really a pocket dump thread in the manner I thought at all.

Thanks, I think. I'm not sure of the "er" designation but if we're talking about green fungible goods then we're on the same page. I hate soap bars.

Obviously it totally depends on where I am going and why but I ALWAYS have, billfold, cell phone, 2 sets of keys, single bladed slipjoint, Fisher space pen, fingernail clippers and chap stick. Sometimes I add to the list specific to the destination.
