Whats knives make you think of summer?

I was thinking about this today, what's the quintessential summer knife to you? Larger knives, specifically the Buck 110 remind me of fall and winter, heavy coats and snow. Maybe a small jack? Or a SAK? Just a random thought while staying up to late listening to fireworks.

The Buck 110 was my summer carry for fishing. Separating the catfish‘s head from the body then skinning or cleaning and scaling the rest of the catch. My favorite general use folder during Arkansas and South Dakota summers and whole year round.

Oddly enough I do carry mine more in the summer. Having only one blade means its lighter than other knives.

Seriously, though, I have vivid memories of sitting around Red House Lake with my grandparents; my grandfather using this very knife to cut us up apples, and clean his toe nails…

So something peanut-like for me.

Camping, fishing and whittling I generally have a Buck 110 along for the fun. I also carry a 303 cadet for the small stuff. When I was a kid I always had a medium stockman in pocket and summer time had lots of reasons for using it.
