What's Left?

I do love gadgets!! A couple people mentioned the short T handle nut driver and screwdrivers. Someone pointed me towards www.sabertoothtools.com awhile back. They make a really cool selection of different screw/nut drivers, in the "T" handle design. From small pocketclip versions to large screwdriver models. I recently bought one of each tool they make. They are great and very well made!!
Peter, I also like the idea of a seat belt cutter/window breaking car extraction tool. I love your Prybaby tool idea, I look forward to your next creation! :D

Nah, that res-q-me is like comparing a candle to a Surefire if you put my design next to it, pity Leatherman wasn't going for it.

That screw door wedge is pretty cool, but it would be even cooler with a quick release.

Peter,

I have always thought a "rescue hook/seat belt cutter" keychain fob would be a great idea. For someoone involved in an accident, a tool to cut yourself and others free is with reach, stuck into the ignition. Even if someone was carrying a knife, the possibilites of not being able to access it exist. From the accidents I've studied, rarely is the key dislodged from the ignition. A safety cutter might also be a better option if the knife someone carries may potentially cause harm (i.e. double edged boot dagger) if used to free someone. I do have some sketches if you might be interested in taking a look.

I carry a S&W Rescue Knife in my center console. Don't you think that the first place that would get damaged in a good accident is the steering wheel / column? Unless you have the rescue tool on a quick release mechanism, you can kiss being able to get your keys out.

The Res-Q-Me detaches from my keyring with a simple tug and does not fall off by accident.

Yes, the Lee Valley door wedge was the one I was thinking of.

Some cool ideas you guys have going! :)

The screwdriver tool I came up with is this: The MiniDriver.......

I can't make them though, for reasons that will become obvious, but I can tell anyone who wants one how to make their own. I used an off the shelf 10 in 1 hardware store screwdriver. Take out the shaft and cut it in half, clean up the end (easy if you have a belt sander and scotchbrite wheel ;) ) and drill a hole for your keyring. Voila! :)

Oh yeah, if you are nice to your local machine shop owner maybe you can persuade him to put a knurl on the piece, makes a huge difference!
