Whats missing in todays knives?

There's nothing missing.

Whatever you want, it's out there.

But, what people want and will buy changes frequently. Must be a nightmare for a custom maker trying to ascertain what the direction of the market is, and what he should design and make.

Something different attracts, but different how?

Great topic. Fact is there may be too many choices out there. To you makers out there keep doing what you do best, and keep raising the standard by raising your own. Call yourself whatever you like I consider you to be "Artists."

My only suggestion wpould be, "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
