The news is Gelbu is back in Calcutta buying more horn. He will be gone a week or a bit longer. He takes the bus to save money and it is a long ride always with many delays for various reasons.
Pradeep fell in love with a kamini and they moved away. Taking his place as Gelbu's assistant is a kid named Manish who can send and receive email and has fair English. I'm glad to see him as Pradeep was very limited in English and could not operate the computer.
Bura and Sanu are producing more khukuris than anybody which is good news for me. They are our best.
Pala complains about the cost of the kothimodas and says it takes the sunar too long to make the scabbards so he is looking for another sunar to take up some slack. He has been bothered by liver problems and is taking meds.
Gelbu bought some new equipment but did not say what it was. He says we may get caught up on all back orders sometime in Feb. Ha! I will believe it when I see it.
We will be getting more news when Gelbu gets back and starts emailing me again.

I have not got a recent report from Gelbu but some of them didn't make the cut. They are on a probation period and if the work they do is not tops then they move on. I'm not sure who is left but I'll try to find out.

Seems like you haven't gotten much in the way of shipments lately? Have there just not been many sent, or is holiday traffic slowing down delivery? Or Gelbu being out of town buying horn delaying shipments? Or maybe there is some other reason things are so slow?
