What's new? Here you go--a couple new sodbusters for you

They both look great, and the idea of a bone handle is great, but the prices are a little too high. A case CV is usually $20-25, and a Queen with D-2 is usually $5-8 more. Nice but steep!

Yep... Nice but, kinda steep price. I don't think it will cut any better than the Stanley carbon steel Sodbuster for 8.00 bucks. The steel seems properly heat treated & takes a razor edge. The Brown Mule by Kissing Crane is also one tough carbon steel knife for around 10.00 bucks. I realise that you pay more for better handle materials that Moore Maker offers but, better cutting blades...nope! JMHO.

OOOps.. forgot to add that the Stanley carbon & the Brown Mule carbon blades outcut my Queen D2 Sodbuster on cardboard box testing! Not by a lot but, better nontheless!

Yes, the first thing I noticed was the price. But just watch, e-bay dealers will start selling them at lower prices, shortly.

Please don't get me wrong! I am not badmouthing the Moore Maker Sodbusters! You have to expect to pay more for better fit n finish! No doubt in my mind here... Plus a leather sheath to boot! Them handles are real nice! The Stanley & Brown Mules are a little more roughfer around the edges but, hey its a work knife!

I've always wondered why the Mooremakers cost that much more than a Camilllus or Queen when they tell me that Camillus and Queen make the knives for them. And you sure can buy a Case cheaper than a Mooremaker.

I have Mooremakers and I do like them but they are a bit pricey. Like I say, the e-bay dealers discount them quite a bit.

My Case Sodbuster Jr CV Yellow Handle was $22.00 at my local hardware store. Certainly cheaper than the yellow Delrin handled MM in the link above.

Bulldog makes a nice Sod, I got this for around $26 bucks.
Hammer Forged blade...nice handles.:)

Looks great Timbo, interesting handle material! What is it?,
and if you don't mind, where'd you buy it?

Waynorth, its cracked ice handles but they do have a perl look also.
I got this one on ebay, im very happy with this Sodbuster.

"Lot of dough" ,"kinda steep price", "first thing I noticed was the price", "I will be surprised how many they sell at that price", "but they are a bit pricey", "My Case Sodbuster was $22.00...certainly cheaper than the yellow Delrin handled MM"

I don't believe you guys! What are you gonna do with your money? Pay rent/mortgage? Put food on the table? Send the kids to college? Come on. You better get you priorities straight. :D

Thomason, you are right! I like that big one, and I have dialed Moore Maker right now! I'll make my own sheath, though.

Thomason, nice pics!! That small dark bone handle is the one for me. I just might have to find one of them!

MJR - Keep in mind that the bone is a tad lighter than shown in my picture. I like the coloring job Moore Maker does on their yellow bone knives.

Lighter would be ok also. I really like the smaller version. hhmmm maybe one of each!

Thanks for the pics, Thomason! Those are some very good looking knives. I like the sheath, too.
