Think it is related to word 'miserably'.
And the new knife can be something like A misericorde (/ˌmɪzərɪˈkɔːrd/ or /-zɛrɪ-/) (from French word miséricorde, "mercy") which is a long, narrow knife, used from the High Middle Ages to deliver the death stroke (the mercy stroke, hence the name of the blade, derived from the Latin misericordia, "act of mercy") to a seriously wounded knight.
Got this thought because read a lot of history books and also have a long lasting passion for knifes, daggers, swords etc.

My guess is the police recruit. Someone earlier in the thread said something about 16th birthday and 2004 was 16 years ago. According to a google search the police recruit came out in 2004 and lately there have been a bunch of discussion around the failure of the police.

The sfno was also released in 2004. Don’t know what that has to do with the failure but it’s the right year. A sfno version with the new mega grind from swamp rat would be awesome.

Hmm. Just a guess here... The legendary Battle Mistress has got to be close to sixteen, and everyone who doesn’t have one wants one, and those who do want more. An odd coincidence with the Urban Dictionary’s definition of Benita. Several things come to mind: a Drunken Mistress (love the name), maybe a VHBM Virgin Heart... Have any been a whopping 16” long? Maybe that could be perceived as a failure... Something about a Drunken Battle Mistress really makes me want to celebrate. If she were a mere two years older/longer, I wouldn’t feel like such a pervert for mentioning such a knife would look best in her birthday suit, or stripped if so required...

I’m probably way off the mark, but I had some fun with the riddle and where it took me!

Somewhere in the following quote lies the answer to what's coming next.:eek::eek::cool:

"Oh Benita,"

What does Benita mean?
The name Benita is of Spanish origin.
The meaning of Benita is "blessed".

Blessed has many definitions, but can mean according to Merriam Webster dictionary : held in reverence or honored in worship

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/blessed

"you and your friends"

'You' refers to the original Fusion Steel Heart, which was born 16 years ago in 2004

https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/the-fusion-steel-heart-vs-the-ergo-steel-heart.317632/

'Your friends' refers to the other Fusion handled knives that have been produced to date, including the MOAB @ 14" blade.

"have failed miserably"

Another phrase which is a synonym for this (means about the same thing) is to have ''fell short or fallen short", as in all the Fusion handled knives to date have all fallen short in blade length

"on your sweetest birthday of all"
Sixteenth birthdays are commonly in America called 'Sweet Sixteen', making it the sweetest birthday of all. Again, the Fusion Steel Heart turned 16 this year.... Sweet!!!

--------------------------

So, in summary we have an entire lineage of Fusion handled knives, beginning with the now Sweet Sixteen years old Fusion Steel Heart. All of which, have failed miserable in size of blade including the 14" MOAB. My guess, we will see a 16" bladed Fusion Steel Heart 16!
