What's On The Drawing Board? . . . What Else Should Be?

how about a saw back ?

Say about 5" or more ?

Elmax ?

Just an idea.

YES!!!
I need this spear to help complete the WASP survival kit.

Edit: deleted Jerry’s drawing of “Arrow Headed Spear,” per post #1 instructions.
But, it can be seen here.
Gotta finish out the Viking set! A spear is just something no one is doing.

I’d take a double bearded Gimli axe too

Just curious, for a spear, how you'd want the handles to be? Are you asking for a survival type knife that can be tied to a stick? Or a hollow end to pin the shaft in?

A Busse Dane head axe would awesome too hehe if we are going into add your own saft direction.

The spear head I want is flat, with a couple holes in the tang… for pinning.
See link in post #403 ^^.

It’d go in a slot:

I actually was thinking about FMV6 if it had cord wrapped handle for example it would fit that spear idea fairly nice.

And, I think my biggest gripe with FMV6 (besides it not being fmv4.5) is how thick the handles are. Granted I like how the thicker handles feel in the hand, but everytime I'm thinking in how to incorporate it into an actual carrying set up it becomes a dilemma.

Not that its not doable, just thiner smaller options always win out. And all of them when drawn out of the sheath are nowhere as good as FMV...but its always a compromise.

Now if we are thinking hey this is a spear too than more incentive to carry it, provided you are in situation where you'd want a spear.

Another thing to consider is blade steel. If you want to use it as a fishing spear, than infi rust resistant as is might not be the best choice. Perhaps magnacut could be an option since the blades been offered in that steel.

Or you could do scales that are screw on that way it could serve as a knife, or pop the scales and be able to mount it to a shaft

How about a Medford/Busse collaboration

A Praetorian Ti with an infi blade would be pretty epic.

Just recently got into some Medfords and I think their construction is worthy of some infi. Furthermore they are concerned over being able to get US steel. I think their recent drop is using the last of their US made CPM D2

I wonder if Jerry and Greg would get along?

Greg Medford is too divisive of a figure and I don’t think getting drawn into his controversy would be good for Busse. It’s better to focus on blades and drinkin.

Don’t make me barf.

I liked Medfords on paper, got one, wasnt a fan. If were talking collabs, I wouldnt mind if Jerry put a wave opener on the folder, those are pretty nifty.

I'll keep beating this drum till my dying breath--- TriAD lock on the Busse Folder would be the match made in hog heaven, imho .... unfortunately for the knife users of the world, I realize that it's a near impossibility :(

I'll say this about the Busse folder. . .

We're closer than we've ever been!!!

That's the exact same thing I told Garth over 20 years ago when he asked about it! 😁🤣😂

Still true to this day!!! 😎

Let's Drink!

Jerry 😁

.
Well, how much closer do ya have to be? 🤔
*Cubera prototypes- 2002
*Un-named- 🤔 2010? I held it for pix @ BLADE East, the clear-sided one showing the internal works
*BLADE East...2014? The one with the CBT blade & swappable scale that you wouldn't let me photo for the forum here while we drank JWB... 😅 That one would've been cool once you tweaked what you said you wanted to tweak on it. Heck, you even carried it, showed it to a few other HOGs here & there after that show... I loved it, pretty sure everyone who got a chance to check it out felt the same. 👍
Jerry, my man, I love ya, brother, but an expression pops into my head here- poop or get off the pot 😉
*Andrew Demko has been & is killing it with locking systems.
*Lionsteel released a folder/"locking fixed-blade" over 10 years ago.
*Joe Caswell released the "morphing karambit", now called a Provoke, & made by CRKT (it is a non-folding "folder") over 5 years ago, & this year he did the same with the "morphing tomahawk" (pretty badazz, really)
The window of innovation with folder strength & lock systems is getting narrower.

If you do ever plan to release "The Folder", ya might want to hurry a bit...just sayin' 🤷
How's about a compromise? Rat Trap II framelock. Little bigger, little stronger, INFI, & ready for release in about a year. 🤔🙃😃
