My KAS* has really kicked in since I joined these pages. I never considered that I was any kind of collector but I have more than a few knives.
Towards the end of January at the Alafia River Rendezvous I walked into Tony Bells tent, being still early in the week he had about 20 knives displayed on his table. I already own two of his, one is a round knife for leather working copied from an old Osborne. He had a long hunter blade that I was immediately drawn to. He does all his work on a forge and utilized old steel that holds an edge like you wouldnt believe. His prices are still way under what everybody else is asking so I bought it from him.
Later that week while still rendezvousing I came across another blade smith I hadnt meet before, he made the coolest neck knives, I felt they where a bit over priced, most over $200.00, beautiful though. He offered the blades at what I considered a very inexpensive price so I bought 4. Three have been hilted and sheaths made in the last week or so.
First with MOP scales;
Second with Stag;
Third with Stag carved bone;
I built these since joining up but bought the blades well before I joined. You guys being enablers directed me towards knifes I have never know to exist. I was told about a great deal on Vic Farmers and bought 4.
I was smitten by the Bark River Aurora and bought one with Stag carved bone, it inspired me to make a new sheath for it;
Up at Bass Pro Shop last Friday night I bought a CRKT M1603Z, it resides in my pocket pushing aside the old Kershaw Leek, I like the Leek but the blade safety has been a problem for me.
And in the mail is a Lone Wolf Harsey D2, plain edge, it should be here tomorrow or Thursday. The Cold Steel Pocket Bushmaster looks interesting. There maybe another Bark River or 4 in my future too, I need help.
