What's on your belt?

I suspect that what works depends a lot on your hip-to-waist ratio (I'm heavyset) and the design of your pants (I usually wear cargo pants).

I'm on the thin side and wear bluejeans every day.

I hope you're able to find a compromise that works for you!

That's part of the fun. :)

I carry two wallets, one in each front pocket. And I wear jeans every day. We have a very casual office. I'm always reaching for one wallet or the other, so carrying anything on my belt up front, either to the right or left of my belt buckle, becomes a pain very quickly.

Ever think of a vest? Maybe one of those lightweight ones with lots of pockets?

I've got an eVest, but it's actually too heavy most of the time. Kind of like a heavy winter coat that's too heavy for all but the worst winter has to offer. I'd like to find a nice, middle-of-the-road, polar fleece kind of vest.

Duluth Trading Company sells a great lightweight vest that holds a lot of gear but isn't overdone like a fishing vest. It has large inside pockets also. I have one and use it quite often. It's called the Working Man's Vest and can be seen at DuluthTrading.com.

Thanks. I'll check it out.

There's a bunch of great stuff on the Duluth site - I've got a pair of their khaki pants... the Bossman or Workman, I forget... but they have a wealth of details that you won't get without spending a lot of money for custom made slacks... and I think I want to try a pair of their firehose pants for hiking here in the Northwest - see if they hold up or are too heavy...

Raxis, that, IMO, is a excellent idea and carry method.

Excellent idea by Raxis... cool alternative!
Thank you, thank you :) but I must confess: That was actually my wife's idea. It's official - she's a babe in every way! :D She was anyway the one who got me the (engraved) Wave - as an anniversary gift.

Sputnik, the Krusell pouch looks very good. I don't think you'll be sorry.
