Nope! Nothing exotic at all. Just 50/50 random fruit juices and black tea. This one is Limeade with a splash of orange. Often I’ll add some Casamigos Anejo. Different every day. Texas tea is one of my favorites when we go out, so these are sort of like budget-brand variations.Tamarindo ?
Wow. Interesting. I used to virtually live on ramen when I first entered the workforce twenty years ago. They were $.10c /ea back then. Are there other brands that are tasty/available/cheap? I haven’t tried one in years. So many shortages these days but I’m not surprised. Global population has literally doubled since I was born. There are 8B people vying for resources now.I eat ramen when I'm lazy and don't want to cook. Just boil it and add a few things to make a meal out of it but . . .
Who knew there was a shrimp ramen shortage?
I've been looking for shrimp flavored ramen at my local discount supermarket for months. Not there. They've got chicken & beef but no shrimp.
Shrimp is my favorite flavor because it provides a more neutral flavor than chicken or beef. Pork flavor would work too but I seldom saw any even when there wasn't a shortage.
So, I bought a case of Maruchan shrimp ramen (24 packs) via Amazon 6 weeks ago for $8.73 delivered for free to an Amazon locker.

Must really have been in the mood for ramen this month because I'm already running out. Looked on Amazon again. Maruchan and Top Ramen are now selling for about $19/case.
That's an over 100% increase in price in just a month and 1/2. It's still "cheap" enough, so, I bought a case of Top Ramen this time because it was being "fulfilled" by Amazon and could again be deliverd free to an Amazon locker.

But, this price increase (way beyond the reported level of inflation) got me wondering.
So, I just did a little research and found the following article which blames a variety of factors including the war in Ukraine and wheat shortages in China and increasing demand in Asia for ramen due to the shortages causing availability to drop and prices to rise in the US (and elsewhere).
I found other articles on the topic as well but I found this one most interesting/informative. See: Ramen Noodle Prices Heat Up
Nothing's simple anymore . . .![]()
