Just got my new Lum in the mail - thanks NewGraham - it has the Lum symbol and the Spyder, but what's the "090V" that's etched on the left of the Spyder mean?

Just have to say, I'm really glad Sal and Co. brought this one back. Simple, artful, useful. For the first time in about 8 years, I'm going to switch out my EDC from the Wegner Jr to this and see if I can be swayed....

Mine will be here tomorrow. I wonder if it is one of the newly released versions with a collector's number on it???

That's a Spyderco Collectors Club number. The V at the end signifies that the black Lum is a Variation of an existing model, rather than the first version of a model to be produced. Some dealers have one or more numbers of their own, partly to insure they receive at least a few pieces of the more popular "limited editions".

INteresting....my first one of the run (a month ago) didn't have that, but the second one (early this week) did. Both the new black Lum...and, oddly enough, both came from same (excellent) dealer. Any thoughts on that???

The one of the number was a Collector Club model. The one with no number was part of the "regular" sprint run. Depending on how the engraver is doing, sometimes the Collector Club models get sent out after the regular run.

In the case of the new ZDP Lum several of the regular sprint run blades came out about a month before the collector's club numbered blades did. I just received my first ZDP Lum with a collector's number as well.

Anyone have a solid # of regular sprints are going to be run, and how many "collectors" as well? I haven't seen any #'s in the past posts, that I can recall (that's asking a lot!)... Just uber-pleased that they are back...
