What's the attraction of Fatty or extra thick Busse's?

I had a NMFFSH. Didn't like it. I got into Busse because they have some nice fat blades but the more I use them, the more I learn how much better thin is. At least for most cases.

Run them through a band saw and you get two knives for the price of one. :D

Cuz everybody knows big girls are beautiful!

I'm lovin' the Th-INFI for a knife that is for cutting & slicing. Fat only interests me for dedicated choppers and then the extra mass is appreciated. Even then, fat usually means it is a "camp" knife and not for the hip or pack.

I always carry a large chopper..either my fehrman extreme or ashbm..my gso 5...and my leatherman charge.with my swiss mini champ piggybacking in the side pocket. . And as always my tatang as my main edc.and that always suits any cutting chopping and slicing..and as I only just got thw ashbm on oct 23rd it has been the fehrman 99 percent of the time.but if I have some serious wood work to do I would take the ashbm now that I have it . That's why I asked if busse has ever made a barong inspired knife cuz I just absolutely love the design..the steel is 1085 which has been decent so far. But man if it was infi I would love it even more.

:thumbup:A Fatty sure feels good in the hand! I probably wouldn't take it on a long hike, but they're great around the camp or in the backyard:) Just picked up this Fat ASH on the exchange, and I'm lovin it:D

...... and you were VERY lucky to get that one... I believe there was an "ASH Shark" circling it that just didn't bite quick enough.... ;)

Fat has a cool factor, but for most knives it isn't very useful for me. Hinders cutting and carrying too much.

I agree with skrap,
Thick = very cool, but to carry on a 5 mile hike, not so much!
IMO the ASHBM is right on the money, enough weight, handles great Chops like a banshee!!
