THIS looks ideal. Get 3 and have fresh sharp knives instead of touching up :P

There aren't a lot of quality fixed blades out there for under $30 bucks but one option you may take a look at is the Buck paklite skinner. 420 HC steel with the good Buck heat treat and comes with a nylon sheath.

I agree. A buddy of mine owns that knife and I love it. Takes an awesome edge. The whole geometry is nice. Wrap it with paracord and you're good to go. Look on cabelas. I'm
Not a huge buck fan, but their knives are geared towards this kind of stuff.

+1 on the Buck Paklite. It's a good lil skinner.
Has anyone tried the Puma SGB SP? it sell for under 30 bucks, but seem to always be soldout everywhere.

Got a Lone Wolf Skeletonized Caper Knife for $21 that I used to skin and process deer this year that is really nice. Haven't sharpened it yet cause it's still push threw paper razor sharp. Just got a Marttiini Lynx knife.Wow. Sharpness out of the box really impressed me. For the price either of these knives I'm sure wouldn't let you down. Both below $30. Marttiini was $24 but the ones with a rubber grip are only $15 or so. The lone wolf for sure holds an edge really well. Gotta use the marttiini more to see how well it will hold up but I'm pretty sure it will. Used to have a marttiinni fillet knife that was great and just bought a new one of those also. Smith and Wesson Bullseye 3 Pack Set is good also for price paid $12 for all 3 knives new and they cut pretty well but need sharpening after using them a descent amount. But for $4 a knife cannot complain and if your just cutting up deer would work well for you. But if you got the money I'd go with lone wolf or marttiini or something even better.

I know we are all knife enthusiasts and like to have a dedicated knife for every occasion. Truth is, you can skin a deer with whatever knife you happen to have on you at the time. Skinned my deer with a Delica this year.

I'm not a deer hunter. Just wanted to mention the Buck 110 Ecolite knives. They have the same 110 blade, but are lighter and actually cost less than $30.

Friedrich Dick lamb skinner. Most comfortable grip you'll find on a knife, and lamb skinners are a great do-all skinning knife.

That

Or this

It's really easy to add your own handle which can actually be as easy as paracord or leather thong.

I've put handles on these and gifted to a few dear hunters and always hear later that it has become their goto knife. Like the above, flexible with a belly. Green River is carbon steel which *I* like, YMMV.
