I have had really good luck with K&G 24hr. Let it cure 12-16hrs and heat to 150deg F solid as a rock
There is another epoxy mentioned on this website claims to be the best made.

What do you guys think?

I think I've recently been converted to Duroweld contact cement myself, at least for full tang blades. Used it for my pyroceram actually and that sucker will NOT move.

Interested in where this thread goes though, as there are things I need epoxy for still. In fact, gonna use some tonight to make my a magnet on a handle to help hold blade while grinding.

Conap Epoxy. You can get it from Sheffield, or Pop. Conap is not runny, it is easy to mix, and it does a great job. Tom Lewis

Locktite Hysol # 9462 is the best thixotripic (non-sagging) epoxy I've ever used for bonding. http://www.loctite.com/catalog/category1.html?ProductLine=6030 The different part numbers have different colors, applications and cure times/temps. Best stuff I've ever used, period. A little expensive to get into because you need the dispensing gun(s), but once you have that the tubes are cheap and can be re-sealed.

If you're looking for something for finishing on areas that you can see and want a clear curing epoxy look at West Systems line. They offer pre measured dispensing pumps and a wide variety of cure times for all applications.
http://www.westsystem.com/ Mix only the amount you need. Comes in sizes from pints to 55 gallon drums. Best finishing epoxy I've ever used.

Check out www.bvmjets.com for some samples of finished products using Hysol (Aeropoxy) and West Systems epoxies. When you're looking, keep in mind the Super Bandit model goes 275 MPH (NOT scale MPH) in level flight at 3/4 throttle. These epoxies really grip.

I also use West Systems Epoxy .I buy in 5 gallon containers. For restoring tusks I mix it with Cab-O-Sil a fine powder to make it any consistency I need.It is mixed five to one by volume. You can buy it by the quart and dispense it with pumps that are avaliable.I have been using Handi- Bond super glue.If you buy enough it is only $19 for a 16 oz bottle. It is good stuff.

Mr JetHead and Chuck there is a West systems dealer up the road from me about five miles or so I will check them out tomorrow.
I have also heard good things about Accuglas, I think that is what OL Kevin at MDK uses.

Looks to be a good thread so far!

Brownell's Accraglass is super good and mixes very well with agragates such as atomized steel and such. I have been using off the shelf JB Weld lately because I haven't stopped by a gun store or placed an order to Brownell's for a while. I also use the Loctite epoxie and think I like it.

Robert,

I got what I have from Brownell's a couple years ago. I don't know what the steel type is but mine is the non-stainless. They offer both stainless and non-stainless. I got the less expensive non-stainless because its going to be engolped in epoxy; so? They sell it mainly as an aggregate for glass bedding compounds. I use it sometimes in epoxies that do not already have steel mixed in (such as JB Weld does).

Also, on a previous point, Brownells Original glass bedding compound is less convienient to use because it is not mixed with a 1 to 1 ratio. It is something like 4 to 1 so it takes more time to measure the two components out properly. However, it sure is good stuff and is often used for bedding stocks because of its low shrinkage upon curing and its stiffness - not to mention it does bond well too.
